Baths.

I've been in the same apartment for over 14 years. When I moved in, the water pressure was so bad that the shower head would just barely even drip. And the curtain rod was mounted too high for a standard-length shower curtain. So I got in the habit of taking baths.

The water pressure issue has long since been fixed, but I've been too lazy to do anything about the curtain rod.

I've modified the tub so that I can overfill it without all the excess water running down the safety drain -- I duct taped over the drain. I know exactly how much water I can fill the tub with, and still drop 250 lbs. of dB into there without sloshing it on the floor.

lol nice adaptations

guess what guys, I'm getting a promotion!

It's not official until next week, so let's keep it quiet so that guy that's getting fired doesn't find out :D

Cool, now you can get away with going in even later, and doing even less.

Well, once in a while I let things deteriorate a bit, and have many people/departments waiting on me so that they can continue the work. The beauty of that is the clean up, bust ass for a day or two then it's "Boy, that SoreArms can sure work hard." I also make sure that what I do, I do well and loudly, in other words e-mails of finished tasks, new software issues found, etc... get copied to the pres, vice pres's 9there's two of the) and my direct boss. I just know how to play the game and jump through the loop holes. Unfortunately, I will be moving to a different department where I will be the lead, and will not have the privacy I have now. My desk will basically be out in the open, and I'll be working more directly with a lot more people than I do now, so I can't hide and post and surf the net all day like I can now. I'm actually going to have to do work :(

What up, NKC peeps? I've decided to pig out on anything my heart desires today, as a reward for doing two of the best workouts (chest and back) I've done in a long time over the past couple of days. Muscles are sore....begging for nutrients....and I intend to feed them well!

people wanna play karma games, we'll play along!

We had three members or "associates" hit today in a coordinated attack.

Those with known involvement have been addressed. Next time the entire group will be responded to.

LOL 'cause when I was playing around with that Bluepecker guy, I keep sayin' that the ABS was totally me and Spongepants idea, so I'm sure I was like #2 on their list to hit. I was kinda gone all day until 6pm Eastern, though, so I'm eating and catching up on what I missed.

Mechanisms of Hair Graying: Incomplete Melanocyte Stem Cell Maintenance in the Niche

Ever wonder what caused gray hair? (no, not kids)

Aging brings on many changes in the human body, among them the graying of hair. Nishimura et al. (p. 720; published online 23 December 2004) found in a mouse model of hair graying that a deficiency of the gene Bcl-2 caused progressive loss of pigment cells in the bulge of the hair follicle--the hair stem-cell niche. Thus, the physiology of hair graying involves defective self-maintenance of melanocyte stem cells with aging, and may serve as a paradigm for understanding aging mechanisms in other tissues.

Mechanisms of Hair Graying: Incomplete Melanocyte Stem Cell Maintenance in the Niche
Emi K. Nishimura,1* Scott R. Granter,2 David E. Fisher1*

Hair graying is the most obvious sign of aging in humans, yet its mechanism is largely unknown. Here, we used melanocyte-tagged transgenic mice and aging human hair follicles to demonstrate that hair graying is caused by defective self-maintenance of melanocyte stem cells. This process is accelerated dramatically with Bcl2 deficiency, which causes selective apoptosis of melanocyte stem cells, but not of differentiated melanocytes, within the niche at their entry into the dormant state. Furthermore, physiologic aging of melanocyte stem cells was associated with ectopic pigmentation or differentiation within the niche, a process accelerated by mutation of the melanocyte master transcriptional regulator Mitf.
