It's evil puppy time!

I brought her home last Sunday....She is now 8 weeks old and weighs 12.9lbs. My son calls the X-men movies "Mystique", because he has the hots for the character "Mystique" (Good taste, just like poppa!). So he decided he wanted to name her "Mystique" when he found out she was a girl....But to be hip and cool, we are spelling her name "Myztiq". She is great with my son and cats and is very, VERY smart!

(WARNING! Image host is NWS and has adult banners, if at work, please enjoy the smaller pics.)

And in true MOJO fashion, when I was looking for this pup I ran across a website for "Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue"...And I spotted this big ass Malamute named Baltar! (He is 1.5 years old and weighs 123lbs. He should top off @ approx. 130 or so) I filled out an adoption app. and found out on Monday that it was approved! He's getting his shnutz cut this coming Monday so I just have to wait for him to heal from that and for the final paperwork to process over the holiday and in 2 weeks I get to pick him up! Woo-Hoo!

So that is two doggies...All I need is 6 more and I can train them to become my unholy army of the night!

I'd love to! But I fear that I would die alone in the wilderness. :worried:

That's a great looking pup. You guys got some work ahead of you, but it will be fun.

Yeah, I know it will be alot of work but I am totally looking forward to all of it because that just means more time doing things with my son.

lol@ that image host.

great dog- he's got beautiful coloring.
i hope you're crate training him.

He's a she.

Anywho....I decided to not crate train at the last second, and it's going very well. Just today she started to come to me or the back door to be let out. At night she sleeps at the foot of my bed in my son's old portable playpen/crib, and when it's time to go (which is down to 1 time a night.) she climbs out of the playpen and onto my bed and wakes me up. Very smart about the potty thing. She already knows sit, shake, stay, and down.

If this dog had thumbs i'd have her doing my taxes by next season!

Yup....everyday when I go to work. Wednesday was the first day that I came home and found her out of the playpen. When I opened my bedroom door, she was on the floor next to my bed laying on top of some sweaters. I held my breath and slowly looked around the room, expecting to find a pile o' shiite or see something tore up, but there was nothing. Now I leave the door open and gate off the hallway just outside my room so she can see what's going on in the rest of the joint and she's fine....her legs are crossed when I get home, but that's about it. She still has an accident here or there when I don't pay attention, but hasn't really since she started going to the door to get out.

Evelyn, a modified dog
Viewed the quivering fringe of a special doily
Draped across the piano, with some surprise

In the darkened room
Where the chairs dismayed
And the horrible curtains
Muffled the rain
She could hardly believe her eyes

A curious breeze
A garlic breath
Which sounded like a snore
Somewhere near the Steinway (or even from within)
Had caused the doily fringe to waft & tremble in the gloom

Evelyn, a dog, having undergone
Further modification
Pondered the significance of short-person behavior
In pedal-depressed panchromatic resonance
And other highly ambient domains...

Hmmm, not to state the obvious but do you really want to start the habit of a 12 lb dog (who will soon be 125 lbs) jumping up on your bed?

They are adorable! I wonder what my cat would do if I let him loose w/ a puppy....

I don't have a problem with it, plus she knows that she cannot sleep there. (Due to the whole dominance thing.)
She only does it to wake me, then out the door for potty.
Maybe i'm being too proud, but I think she actually started doing it because I'd "Shush" her when she'd "yip" to wake me so she wouldn't wake my son.

I  my puppy!

Right...they average 80-95lbs. However there are many that get to be 100+lbs.

The Mal however, totally diff story. :chomp:

that is amazing. i'm impressed. accidents happen- they are too little to help it.
you got a great dog. :)

Thanks Muffin!

I have to give most of the credit to the pup though....When I mentioned that she was very smart that was an understatement. Her breeder stopped by yesterday and couldn't stop remarking on her. She evn (jokingly) asked me to train her pup that she kept from the same litter, saying her sister was having a very difficult time. Honestly, i'm just doing shit that I am reading in a book and believe it or not I do some of that "Dog Humperer" shit....I thought the stuff he does was too simple to be really effective but it really, really works. The one thing that I have noticed, at least with this breed is that the whole dominance thing is the foundation for everything. You get that down and it seems to make all the difference.

She still has pup moments and all that, but who can blame her.....she's a pup.

What happens when 123 lb Baltar sees cute little Mystiq jumping up on the bed & decides he wants to be there too..?

Mostly I"m just thinking of the situation my brother has gotten himself into w/ his 2 pharoah hounds - they all climb in bed w/ my brother & his wife, sleep & then watch cartoons on Sat morning. But those two dogs are beyond spoiled at this point. My cat isn't even allowed in my bedroom because he has annoying habit of needing to park under my chin, which in turn activates my allergies.... poor kitty.

Anyway they are both adorable & I'm sure they will be a big part of your life :)

1 important question tho - are these dogs going to cute into your porn posting time? I know a lot of EF guys (& girls :worried:) who would feel the impact....

Lunch time!

She'll be out of the playpen and the room by the time he gets here....She's almost out now. If they both want up then they can both have up, I really don't mind....they just will not be allowed to sleep there. Also from what I understand Baltar has some serious training and is quite impressive with pups, kids and small animals, which is why I am adopting him. If they both want to wake me up that's cool too....I have noticed that I am in a much better mood when Myztiq wakes me rather than my alarm.
