Sorry, I should have posted a more complete answer. I know that Saudi is one of the largest if not the largest purchaser of US weapons. Im not suggesting that these guys duke it out without the weapons we sold them, Im saying that if Israel decided to take on Iran mono y mono with the US publicly saying it will not help Israel in ANY way during the war, then I wouldnt be surprised if Syria and maybe Egypt jumped in with Iran as well. Depending on who is in power in Saudi Arabia, they may be a threat too. Considering the reigning king has been debilitated for quite some time now and there are shitloads of fanatics waiting to take over the throne when they get the chance.

Yes, I know that in the past Israel embarrased all these countries by kicking the shit out of them, but they have never taken on Iran.

Which leads me to the other point that if we DID back Israel directly, you can expect many more countries taking sides and duking it out.
