i pretty much already have an idea of who is gonna vote what, but maybe i'll be surprised. maybe you can even elaborate for your friends at elite fitness.

my first memory was from when i was 6 and my mom and I were living in a large, empty house. her date came to pick her up and he sat with me while she got ready and showed me how to make paper airplanes. He went on to become her 2nd husband.

i don't remember anything before that and didn't remember my real father or that i even had one.

I remember being in a dark room with the hallway light shining in. Someone was singing to me and trying to get me to go to sleep. I'm not sure about my age but it was prolly really young because I remember stuffed animals being on my bed.

whoa did you feel peaceful or creeped out

My earliest memory involved getting stitches. I hit my head on a coffee table at 3, all I can recall is sitting on a gurney, screaming/crying as the doctor did *something* to my forehead which burned like hell.

my first memory is really shitty and too far off the map for this thread right now, but my second memory is being pushed in a dolphin cart at sea world - very awesome

I think I know it... the refrain anyway. "Yada, yada, yada, and I did it MYYYWAYYY." Your mom was prolly listening to Frank.

All of my first memories are bad. Stealing a piece of candy from the store when I was three. Getting stung by a wasp.

My son's is sitting up on a shelf in his room, prolly the first toy somebody ever gave him. I know exactly what your talkng about....

my first memory? i couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 (no. . .i'm not kidding), we lived in a trailer court (yes. . .i was white trash. . .fuck you). . .it was a nice neighborhood (as far as trailer courts go). . .we had a pretty big yard. . .there was a farm field (pasture land) behind us. . .a row of large trees separated the trailer court from the pasture. . .i had a friend named johnny that lived a couple of trailers down, on the other side of the road. . .our mothers used to sit in our yard while we played with tonka toys and shit. . .

my memories from that time are pretty good. . .

My mom was a third grade teacher when I was little. I remember going to school with her when I was about 2. I remember being terrified of the big kids (8-year-olds). I remember playing with chalk. I remember my mom scolding 2 kids in the office for not doing their work. I remember walking across the basketball court in the gym at the end of the day. My mom's voice echoed and our shoes squeaked.

My first is of sitting on the kitchen counter with my feet in the sink looking out the window. Walking into the barn with my dad and getting startled by cats & pigeons. Some other stuff like that.

First memory was when i was 3 and we went to disney world. We went on some ride in epcot center with dinosaurs that terrified me, had me crying, but at the end and for the rest of the day I ket wanting to ride it again and bugged my parents enough that they did, in fact, take me on it again. I voted positive because while it was probably the fear impact that made me remember, it clearly wasn't actually all that bad considering I wanted to ride it again and was perhaps the first experience I had of loving being scared by something. I also remember the ride with figment.

hmmmmm, I think my first memory ever was going on my dad's boat and going out to Kelly's island when I was 3-4 oh and pissing my pants in pre-school

I was 2 years old and my family was viewing the house my parents eventually bought and I grew up in - I was sitting on a window seat banging my legs against the bottom, they didn't reach the ground.

It was a good memory. I didn't catch the 'first memory' part 'til after I voted...

How can anyone even remember what their first memory was?

My parents would take us to Johnson park to play/picnic and visit the petting zoo. Seems pleasant enough eh? NOT.

My parents apparently had gotten into a fight and my father just left us there. My mother couldn't speak English nor could she drive. And even if she could, we only had one car and my dad was in it. I remember sitting on a bench as the sun was setting and it was getting darker quickly. I was terrified about "what would happen next"? I was sitting on one side of my mother and my older brother (who is 20 months older than me) was on her other side. My mother was VERY pregnant so it was very much towards the end of summer. She was wearing this red sundress (more like a moomoo LOL) with big white polka dots. I remember my mother crying silently. I was telling her, "Don't worry Anyu it will be ok." all the while near pissing myself with fear. My sister and I are 3 years apart so I know I was barely three, our birthdays are so close - 31 AUG and 4 SEP....

My father could have been gone for 10 minutes or several hours, I don't know as children have no concept of time. But I remember what seemed like hours of sheer terror... I will never forget that feeling as long as I live.

I remember my 3rd b-day party and my mom picking me up and putting me in front of my bozo the clown birthday cake. I also remember getting a puppy with my mom and dad and taking it home in the truck.

I remember sticking dirt into the oil tank at someones house. I got yelled at. I have a ton of memories from the 3-4 year old period like that.

Around the same time period I was going pee-pee up stairs and saw a hole in the floor and thought it would be nice to go in that. I did. It dripped down into the kitchen on someones cake (not sure who the cake belonged to).

I also remember when I was around 3 me and my friend would roll our socks down and then pretend they were space socks and we would fly around.

My mind is cluttered with early memories from my youth.

My first memory is around when I was three years old. It was during the evening sometime around Christmas when I was sitting on my Grandpa's lap staring at all the lights on the Christmas tree.

I have a lot of snippets of memories from very young, but can't place them in any chronology, everything that's before kindergarten is sort of blended together, as weird as that sounds.

My first definitive memory that I can place in time is when I was 2 and had my tonsils removed. I remember a LOT of that whole episode, being sick, going to surgery, being in the hospital. I still remember being wheeled for the surgery and I was okay until I saw my mother's face and saw she frightened and I became hysterical, screaming, trying to get away. I remember being held down by strangers and that black mask coming toward my face (this would have been 1967).
