Is this legal?

Working with an out of state clinic to get my HRT med's. The clinic wanted to use their in-house doctor to review my lab's, etc. but I insisted that I wanted to establish a patient-doctor relationship with a local one that will see me and perform the examination and interview; this local doctor has a business relationship with the out-of-state clinic. The local doctor will be writing the prescriptions and sending it to an out-of-state pharmacy where they will fill and send me the med's. I will be billed by the pharmacy. I have receipt showing that I saw the local doctor. Also, I have complete lab tests showing my condition needing these medicines.

The reason why I am asking is that I was using an out-of-state clinic and was paid a visit by the police saying what I did was illegal. I believe where I went wrong in that is I never saw the doctor face-to-face and the billing was done (med's) through the clinic not through the pharmacy (FDA regulations).

Is there anything from which I explained can be construed as illegal? I'm thinking not as this is no different from me seeing my doctor around the corner and having him issue me a script for medicine that I can pick up at Walgreens. Thank you.

It is perfectly legal because you are having a licensed Medical Doctor write you a script for a legitimate medical condition. Where you get the prescription filled does not matter so you can have the out of state pharmacy issue the drug no prob. I have done this before with no problems.

Example: I tried phentermine once before...a scheduled diet drug...written by a doc in Pa...filled by a pharmacy in Colorado and then sent to me in the Sothwestern states no prob.

how did the police get involved ?

Apparently, the cops found my records in a dumpster outside the clinic. That's what the cops were saying, who knows if that's true or not. The cop showed me a copy of the prescription and sure enough it was the one that was issued to me. If you do a google search, there is a posting by DEA on steroids that says that it is illegal for you to get a prescription for a schedule III drug without having a face-to-face patient relationship. I've been told that law enforcement has been cracking down on these type of internet medicine practices. I went to extreme lengths to get the medicine prescribed to me and am paying more, but I can't afford to get busted.
