Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below my girls likes to flip trhough the talk shows now and then. This monday, she was watching lake and I found myself intrigued by what they were saying. The people there were all black. The topic was people on the ‘download’ (DL). The main guy described them as “black straight males who have sex with other men” or something along those lines. He went on to say that friends/family of these people do not know what is going on because “blacks are an ignorant, uneducated people that can’t read”. What that had to do with “DL”, I do not know. Anyway, why is this “DL” thing for blacks only?
is the term "DL" strictly for blacks?

Well the "black" community DL used to mean just keeping shit a secret but today it pretty much just means a bisexual man in the closet. Not just black people say it but it's just used by those down with urban(black) culture. Give it time and it may catch on with the masses in America like so much other black slang has. And on the side note the amount of DL brothas that hit me up online is truly mind boggling.
