slim if you are involved in a hit and run accident and the other car runs?
My mom was involved in one of these last night and the dumbass hit the back of her 2004 silverado truck/ king cab........its a huge ass truck and she was turning right into a gas station and this car hit her from behind. Hit her so hard it knocked her across the road
The policeman told her that there was a slim chance that they will find the hit and run person.
Why?? its a freakin small town.....is it because the cops dont want to bother looking for the other car? or they see that my mom is well insured and think that her insurance will pay for it?
Her tailgate was down so it caused alot of damage to the other car. Im sure the other driver was either drunk/uninsured/licenseless or all 3

I had one of these wrecks before and ended up paying my deductible and they almost totalled my car because of it too. I just think that sucks

It's because the Police cant possibly catch them with no one linking them to the scene of the crime/or no plate #.

I bought a junker truck one year...got called out of bed by the boys at midnite or so...I walked outside and saw my junker truck on my neighbors lawn, impaled on a 'NO PARKING' sign of all things. Seems someone came around the corner too fast and hit my truck head on knocking it up onto the neighbors lawn. There was glass, plastic, oil, and anti-freeze all over the street in front of my house, but all they could do was follow the fluid trail until it ran out.

The cops called me back two days later and told me it was a red car that hit my truck. I was like 'REALLY?...you don't say...I noticed the red paint too!!! Like that NIGHT dude!!! (long pause) What day is it anyway?"

The bastards said 'thankyou sir' and hung up. Can they do that?

well unless she has a solid description of the vehicle prolly will be hard. I've seen times when the hit and run car has left paint on the other car... and with a description they were able to find it.

But the other car prolly didnt' damage your moms to much truck right?

I doubt they will put too much work into finding this car... Its sad but true.

yeah it did quite a bit of damage.
you cant even see the tag on the back of the truck
ALOT of people saw it happen and some cars even chased the truck but they lost it
i hope they got the tag number

Better to let your insurance run them down...

I have seen them put private detectives on it if the damage is costly enough....But I can't imagine the Po-Lice in TN would allow a hit and run go without at least some investigation....I think that will be a liscense suspension.

If it is an illegal immigrant, and they don't have any liscense, or insurance, and they have to deport them, then who's gonna grow the dang cabbage, and cucumbers???

AND btw, about your thread title....if chances is plural, and I think it is, then it should be ARE the chances, not "is the chances"....I know you're in TN, but DANG!

At least if you catch the guy, his ins. will pay, if he has any. Here in Ontario, No Fault insurance means your insurance pays, no matter what. The problem with that is, if you get rear ended twice your insurance goes up, 'cause you have 2 claims. Makes some people go ballistic.
