Is rice good for gaining weight ?

Great advice - eat anything.

Good way to ruin your body. ;)

Seriously though, if you have trouble gaining weight and it's that important to you, you might have no other choice.

I'm glad I'm a strict mesomorph who can control his cravings.

3 square meals a day and 2-3 protein/weight gain/MRP drinks a day. I don't eat alot either for my size so usually 5 feedings is a good day for me.

Don't listen to eat big if you're any bit concerned about your heart. Do moderate cardio 2-3x a week and just eat to compensate.

Have to keep the heart healthy. God, what is it with people thinking that cardio is fucking evil? :kaioken:
Tom, I got this feeling you know too much. Seriously. Not a flame in anyway, it's actually quit good, but at your age, I'm afraid it's effecting yout gains. What I mean is, you are in your best years. When I was your age, I knew jack shit about nutrition. I JUST ATE, and TRAINED, and ATE some more....and I got big, strong, and was pretty cut (metabolism)......then, I read everything I could once I got out of school. Learned about all the different macros, the gis, etc. and that's what really killed me. I over analyzed my diet WAY too much for my age. I missed a ton of good times with the family and friends, and weighed eveything that went near my mouth. Sure, I got ripped to shreds, but my strength dropped in half. What I'm saying is, it's great to watch your cal. intake, but you're a young kid, eat up now, analyze more later..........

the overall message in this thread is so clear, i really dont need to say anything.
But eat more, and life is good.

But, in order to warrant the effort needed to write this, i should say something, that hasnt been said yet.

1) read every article on
www.testosterone.net

when youve done that

read every article on
www.elitefts.com

and if you want to learn some real training and get big, order some books from that site by zatorisky. However pretty much all the literature on that site is excellent.

And hang out on the training board, read all the links that are posted. And if you go to university and have acess to an electronic data base of research, i would spend alot time looking for info on there.

Really what you know is going to make or break you.

...

and i should mention flex magazine, muscle and fitness, and most newstand fitness mags. Are full of shit.

I'd agree on reading those articles, except being this guy is a total newb, all that info is gonna do is scramble his brain. Go read the articles on either of those sites and you will see every other guy recommending a different routine and training style. Ya, they all espouse the basics, but still, that's alot of info to assimiliate. I'd just have him hit up the super squats program and drink a gallon of 2% milk a day. That and 2 cytogainer shakes will have him growing easy at 240grams protein a day not including the rice and stuff, but that's just my opinion. I agree micro-managing can be bad to overall progress in some cases. CArdio is a must, but I don;t think it's really necessary while bulking if you limit your rest between sets to a minute or so. I start off with heavy basics for multiple sets, low reps and rest plenty between sets. Don't even break sweat usually. But once I start those bodybuilding exercises I move pretty fast between sets and I'd bet my heart rate doesn't go below 150bpm for 20 minutes or more. I'd call that cardio.
