Is rice good for gaining weight ?

well since I am asian, I eat rice everyday, although I don't eat much, probably 2 times a day, breakfast is just some milk with bread

so I was wondering if rice is good for gaining weight?

I am 6'0, 145lbs, and I am sick of this skinny ass body

p.s. I gained 5lbs over 2 months from eating like hell :verygood:
 
also if I work on all every body parts 4 days a week, monday ~ work, tues - rest, wednes ~ work, etc. Is that good?

I don't want to split it up to different body parts every day
 
oh man...uhhh, brown rice is a good source for gainign weight, but it is only a very small piece of the entire puzzle. How bout some more info (i.e. what is the rest of your diet like, how long have you been lifting...).

Brother- quit worrying about rice and gaining weight. You should be MORE concerned with getting about 4 MORE meals in, and increasing your CALORIES.....you can eat brown rice till your hair falls out, but it's not gonna help you put on the weight YOU WOULD LIKE (lean), if everything else isn't dead on.......do some reasearch..........at 6'0, and 145, if it isn't nailed down, eat it.
 
j kurz is right, with the weight your at you could prolly at least 4 meals a day. dont do cardio. get some bulking protein shakes like cyto gainer by cytomax if you have trouble getting that many meals in a day. 6'0" at 145 is quite skinny. so eat as much as possible. remember,

eat big
 
Don't listen to eat big if you're any bit concerned about your heart. Do moderate cardio 2-3x a week and just eat to compensate.

Have to keep the heart healthy. God, what is it with people thinking that cardio is fucking evil? :kaioken:

Tom - relax....Nobody is slamming cardio. Some people are called "HARD GAINERS" meaning - any excessive exercise will rob them of their weight. Plain and simple. Cardio, I agree is great for the heart, however, all he needs to do is go for a leisurely stoll in the park with his girl and dog, and he'll be fine. He needs to increase his calories (CLEAN) and train heavy for the time being........also, if he is eating two meals a day of rice,milk and bread, and craving to gain weight, the last thing he needs to be doing is cardio.
 
rice:

white rice is high GI, I think it's like 80

Brown rice is 40-60.

But all in all, given how skinny you are, I wouldnt bother micromanaging diet. Just do the see food diet. LIke I'm a skinny biatch and I'll eat everything including junk, especially after a workout.
