Is marriage worth it?

Everyone I know that's been married has later divorced except my parents. Is there a point to it if you're only going to divorce 10 years later? My sister was happily married for 9 years and 3 months and unhappily married for the last 9 months and is now divorced. What's the point if the odds of it working out are slim?

Just be selective with who you choose. Make sure you find someone who is willing to compromise, and work things out when the going gets though, and be willing to do so yourself. I've noticed as well that most married men I know who are 40+ and happily married, just agree with their wife when she argues with them "Yes dear..." or "No, I'm wrong... its my fault..."and continue to watch football...

Couldn't tell ya personally buddy. But I guess I can agree now with the 60% divorce rate. My cousin's wife is messing around on him, and just found out from a friend the other day this his wife is screwing around on him. I guess if you find the right one whoever that maybe it might be worth it. But how do you know if he or she is the right one?

I`m going on 8 years and still very happy. As long as you understand marriage evolves with the personalities and lifestyles of the people as they age, You should be fine.

You have to be in love with the human being you`re marrying, Not (only) the tits or skin or ass of the person you`re marrying.

You must grow and change together to meet each other`s needs and wants in life. THAT should be discussed WAY before you pop the question. Assuming you`re both adults.

That's my goal too.

How do you handle the family constantly asking when you are going to settle down? or all your friends getting married and leaving less people to hang around, or the not having a kid?

Those are the only things that bother me about staying single.

You guys just have`nt met the right person. The moment I met my wife I had several girls calling me leaving messages on my answering machine... Going out all the time with different girls. I was a bachelor in full force. Then it came to a screeching halt. That`s it. She was the one. IT JUST HIT ME. It was a no brainer decision.

I know it sounds gay but I wanted to grow old with her. Married almost 8 years now. So what if in 5 years from now we get divorced. I doubt it butfor arguments sake. At least the last 12-13 years was bliss. I`ll take it. lol
