Is John Kerry a viable candidate???

Sure Bush is popular right now as his dad was after Desert Storm. The sluggish economy proved to be Sr's undoing. If we follow a similar economic trail, I believe that W is in trouble.

They would appear to have the means to substantially lower the price of oil soon and that WOULD bolster the economy. I suspect that human nature will prevail and profits will be maximized instead. With a sluggish economy but very rich, and suddenly much more so, financial backers supporting him.....Bush will put up a very game fight. He is an able servant with generally wise masters.

Lets assume that the economy still sucks next year and a Democrat or third party wins. Who do you think is the most viable alternative candidate???

The guy reminds me of LURCH on the Addams Family!

I'd ask him to say 'YOU RANG" for me all day so I could get a good laugh!

If i felt the need to have a classic example of a "pussy" running the country, i would vote him in in a second. National "bend over and grab your ankles" day would be here before long.

I guess you could say that he's viable. But I don't see anyway that he will beat Bush. Bush II is more Reaganesque than Bush I. I believe that Bush will bring these voters back. I also think the Dems have problems delivering any kind of message. The Democrat message seems to be simply to oppose anything Republicans do. Opposing school vouchers will hurt them on the education issue. Refusing to do anything about social security is getting old too. Kerry's a Vietnam vet, so that will help somewhat. He's probably more intelligent than Bush, but far less crafty. He's also got some opponents in the Demcratic race that are going to go after him hard. Dean for example will hurt Kerry. We'll see, but I think the economy will be on a slow upswing. Bush will be hard to beat.

The Democratic Party has too many factions and internal differences which was made quite clear by the '02 elections. The list of potential Presidential canidates is far from stellar. There is Liebermann (who will never get elected), Kerry (who doesn't have much of a chance either), and Dean who I have listened to and followed. Of the bunch Dean seems like the best possible choice to win the nomination.

I have doubts as to whether he'll win the nomination, let alone the Presidency. Even if the economy continues to falter, Bush has demonstrated an ability to leverage public support. While some narrow-minded fools have accused him of using Iraq as a re-election tool, I wouldn't be suprised to see Bush pushing the international agenda to take the public's attention away from the economy.

I think Kerry blew any chance he had by saying "What we need is a regime change here in America." His veteran status is negated by his apologistic attitude about nam and the military. Muscle Geek has it right.

This is a great example of how pathetic the democrats have been in mounting opposition to the republicans. How would the average American be sympathetic to comparing Bush to Saddam by using the "regime change" phrase?

The left in this country has marginalized itself to the point that they are struggling to even nominate a viable canidate.

Huh?? Being very tall makes him look like lurch? There is almost no facial resemblence.

Leave it to a woman to judge a candidate solely on how they like their appearances.

Arnold should be a shoe in in CA.

The beer must be kickin' in right about now....or you injured your arms and fingers and you are typing with your dick.

In these times I'm a little skeptical about a democratic president...my thoughts of Bush sway from "One corrupt motherfucker" to "guy who believes he's doing the right thing and is tough about it."

I'm still pretty nervous about their agendas and very nervous about the civil liberties Bush is killing.

I just have a hard time buying into the idea of a good republican president who's gutted more civil liberties then perhaps anyone since WWII.

Yea.....I go back and forth a little myself. We have 1 1/2 years to gather evidence and form a more solid opinion.

I'll tell a reason I have swung to the left some. This board has been a great place to compare the liberals to the right wingers. I have seen way too many asshole postings by the right wing for my stomach. Interestingly enough, 99% of them are Americans. I'd say that the vast majority of EF assholes, you know who they are, are right wingers.

Frack.....I'm a little disappointed in that your post indicates that you have lost conviction in your beliefs about contemporary world problems.

Bro I definitely agree with that...the majority of the right wingers here are contemptuous dickheads....

As far as the rest bro...I dont know...I smell something dirty as hell but in truth, I hate this conspiracy shit in a way...I just wish we had a leader and a system I could believe in so sometimes it gets the better of me, like today.

Oh.... Bite me! If that was how I arrived at voting for a man I'd never vote!

Sorry, he still reminds me of Lurch! What can I say?

I would but I seem to remember that you are married.

Great height has consistently proven to be an invaluable asset to an effective presidency. All four of the men gracing Mt. Rushmore were giants in their time. In more recent times, both Reagan and Clinton would have to be given credit for being effective presidents though I harbor doubts about their politics. They both stood 6'2" or more.

How would you describe Lincoln? He did resemble lurch a little I suppose. Besides lurch didn't look bad, he simply had a weird personality.

Naw..Abe does not look like Lurch in my eyes...Perhaps it's the beard that is throwing me off a tad!

I have always thought that Kerry had a long ass face like Lurch. BTW..I met Mr. Kerry on Martha's Vineyard once. He even looks MORE like Lurch in person!!!!! I was too afraid to ask him to do his, " You rang" impression! I would have been run off the island if I had! hehehe

:)

as long as we're in a war like state no dem will win.

People get tired of wars after a while. There are also loads of cerebral people who are not impressed by a perceived need to settle differences with war. Additional warmongering could backfire if casualties exploded.

Why would Syria not employ bio chem weapons? Because we would nuke them? If we start dropping nukes, someone will figure out a way to nuke NYC. Say goodbye to any semblance of life as you ever knew it.

kerry is a bonesman, member of Yales skull and bones, just as bush. amoung other things verging on the anti-christian, an initiation ritual is masterbating in a coffin and reciting your entire sexual history down to kissing.

while the bushs are big trilaterals kerry is a member of the council on foriegn relations. his wife has or will soon inherit around $450 million dollars. so yeah hes a viable canidate, hes just as much a corp whore as bush.

they are both members of elite societies. does that sound like you?

Thanks for the info Sinistar. I had managed to get info on Kerrey and Kerry confused. Perhaps I will look for another candidate, I'm in the mood to back a third party guy.

We have 9 democrats running and two were able to raise over 7 million in the first quarter. I think Gary Hart will also weigh in soon. Hart.....as in Had any Rice today?

They will do some damage and there are a lot of famous people that will heavily back them.
