Ok here is the deal, I was contacted by a company that I went on an interview with about 6 months back and declined their offer due to them going thru a temp service at the time and I was just uncomfortable with that. He called me up and made a proposal to me, which I do want to consider. I ended up breaking my toe and just felt really uncomfortable having to do an interview with on heel and the other foot in a sock so I asked to rescheduled.

He wants to see me today at 4pm... thing is, I knew today I would be doing a bit of field work and really dressed down, I mean my older jeans and a plain basic top. I told him I would be more comfortable if I were not all dusty and grimy after a long day and also in the attire I am in.

His reply was not to worry about that, and he would really like to meet with me anyway.

now my hair is all wind blown, im in jeans, heels, and a plain ol top... I didn't prepare for going on an interview. Should I just reschedule, or beings he told me not to worry about it, just hold this appt?

I just feel really awkard not being dressed to a tee for a job interview, even though he knows I also do field work and it was short notice.

well... its not an excuse, he just proposed this to me this morning. I had asked to make it for Wed, but he couldn't be there so we were going to set up a different date. He emailed me this morning asking if I could come in today. Really short notice for me. But I was honest with him and told him that I wasn't dressed to par.. and the reason why.

He is really interested in getting me there and getting me there now...

well... beings it would also be a sales position, looks are very much a big part of the job. eekkkkk

As long as they know beforehand then it is no big deal.

I did this exact thing when I was interviewed for my current job 10 years ago. I got hired. You'll be fine, assuming they don't catch on that you are mentally unstable.

thanks... I was feeling the same, beings I was upfront with him about my attire today. His reply was that he was also in jeans today and that it was no concern.

Guess i'm going on an interview today. :)

HELL NO! GO do it! This exact same thing happened to me. Guy called me on "casual Friday" and I had jeans on. Told him I was not dressed for an interview but was willing to go meet him asap. It shows initiative and I got the job. I refused the job, but I got it!

GO FOR IT FRISK!

he doesnt care what ur wearing, hes not trying to fuck you.

if he says dont worry, then dont worry...'

unless of course you have no redeeming qualities and ashitty resume, then put gobs of lipstick on and trim the nails on your dickhand

I am going to disagree here. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Wait until you are dressed properly.

In addition, any time you are dressed down compared to the person you are meeting with, you are automatically at a disadvantage.

If he really wants you, he will wait for you to shower.

I've already been on an interview with him, made a first impression... turned down the job and he contacted me for a second time. He contacted me solely because he said I made a great impression and I presented myself great. He knows I frequently do work in the field and have to dress different at times... so I'm not always in heels and a suit.

if you turned it down why is he contacting you again?

he obviously wants to fuck, reschedule for when your dressed more propper

I turned it down because I had sent out my resume online and going thru that service would have me waving insurance, 401k... etc... and also taking a lower pay due to them paying the service a percentage. They are now out of contract with said company and he still had my resume, and still wants me to consider the job.

no... not being sarcastic at all. I love your wit and the fact that you say what you have to say and take the backlash like a pro. But behind all of that... you are very compasionate and very level headed and intelligent.

Oh and the fact that you adore your mom, well... that gives you two more stars.

see how bad they really want you - go barefoot, scratch your pits, and burp and fart alot.

If you get the job you pretty much can do whatever you want.

Did you have a reason to not show up? If yes then that is your excuse for not showing up. Dont confuse what I said saying excuse meaning you were lying an excuse is good bad or indifferent.

I would say this you should go. I went on an interview when I was a field Engineer with mud on my boots after I explained to them I was in the field and the understood. Because the main reason being this. They may have a very qualified individual waiting on the side for that position and if you dont take it they are going to give it to him/her. They can only hold them off for so long without either losing their opportunity with that candidate or having to cut their loss with you.

So he already knows what you look like when you dress up? Anyway you can always come down with something and leave work early to change. You dont have to lie just say something very important just came up in my personal life that I do not feel like discussing but it is very important and I need to leave for the day!

thanks, i appreciate that,

what are my flaws?

id say that im too cold and distant at times, and i cross the line way too much (offensiveness wise)

I'm trying to finish this project today... I was in early and worked thru lunch just to get off for 4, I prefer not to put my current job at stake for a job that I'm really not sure I will take.

I mean, i'm not dressed like a hobo or anything, just jeans a plain top, heels and a have my hair up. I have makeup and all to touch up my face, and all needed to touch up my hair.

I'd say that would be your flaw... sometimes being really cold and offensive to others... some know how to take it and some don't. I feel you tend to come off way to strong at times when commenting on others faults. I can tell its not a damn thing to do with your upbringing... more just you in general and how you tend to interact with people. Just when someone doesn't know your personality, it will strike them the wrong way.

other than that... I believe you are a great person, and i'm sure a great son.

well... I'm actually taking all you guys word on this. I will of course freshen up my face and hair and all that, but still will be sporting the work clothes instead of the business attire i would normally go to an interview with. I guess if he wants to see me on such short notice and has been warned that I am really not up to par but still wants to see me... my apperance isn't all that important.

If he already knows the situation - showing up as you are just shows that you are flexible in spontaneous situations and can handle the unexpected without getting ruffled.

And if he doesn't think that way - f*k em

So save yourself time and just go as you are.

i was volenteering at a home for the elderly, and some guy kept pulling his pants down and walking around, and his dick was huge but it looked like it fellwith age and instead of being where it should be it was where his taint shoulda been and pointed str8 down
