Is it possible to Increase your max bench over 100 pounds in a year?

definately, given the right conditions. say one is starting out and struggling with the bar(45 pounds). i believe it's entirely possible to go from that to 145 in a year. i sure as hell did, and that was 9 years ago when i was just 13.

now someone who has been training 10+ years and wants to go from say 405 to 505....whole different ball game.

bench shirt helps too :)
depends ive seen a lot of people struggle with them..you definitely do not put one on and bench a ton more weight..some may see an immediate improvement others it may take months to learn the groove..and just because you can get a weight to touch doesnt mean you can press it..then you open up a new can of worms that youll need to work on in order to get your lift to count

its not continuous and linear. but a beginner can, thats for sure.
I agree,I was 16 when I started lifting weights and could not bench much at all.I think I could press 40 or 50 kg a couple of times.Only a few months later I was pumping 96kg 10-12 reps wich I thought wasn't to bad at the time.

i started training hard 'again' in august after taking 2 years off and my bench has gone from 235 to around 315 for four reps. haven't tried higher weight yet but i'm guessing i can get at least 335.

I went from 171 to 345 in 15 months but that was the first bite of the apple, also got a good bench shirt, shooting for 400 maybe take another year to get that 55 lbs realistically
