Is it ok to mix brands of clothes?

I mean, is it stupid to wear a pair of Hilfiger pants with a DKNY shirt? Or is it best to keep your outfit all the same brand? A friend of mine told me I was lame for mixing brands.

what?! I dont wear that kind of clothing, but if you have a shirt that is screaming hilfiger in red wletters, as well as some pants that have fubu on the side seam, then I would definitely think tacky-alert.

then again, I am a simple man, I dont like to brandish the name brands. plain t shirt, maybe screen print, and some dickies or jeans.

I'm talking about going out and getting dressed up nice wearing a nice pair of Hilfiger dress pants and a DKNY dress shirt. I wore this last weekend when we went out and my buddies all told me I should stick with matching brands on outfits. I told them they were full of shit because I thought I looked fine.

who can really tell unless they are checking your tags anyway.

(assuming you don't have huge branding letters on you, which is tacky anyway)

It really shouldn't matter if you mis 'n' match name brands. The only time that you should keep the same name brands together is if the style and texture of clothing doesn't match. But other than that tell them to stay outta your pants unless they wanna suck your dick...
