That's what I've come across. Either they hate men or are just kinda crazy. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

no.. but it could very well be that one must already be in a "bad emotional state" in order to become a stripper..
catch my drift clyde?

yet another falsehood.. i've had many a fellow service member actually marry a stripper... only to have their marriage end in said servicemember ripping his hair out by the roots cuz his old lady was fucking every other patron and never showing up to her classes...
Temple01 said:Not all strippers clubs are created equal just like not all strippers are created equal. You guys must just be hanging out at the really seedy joints. IMO it is not a damn bit demeaning for the girl (she is laughing all the way to the bank) but it sure as hell is for the idiot that is handing over his paycheck - i,e. I am so pathetic that I have to pay to see a woman like this.
manny78 said:I know some strippers. In fact my best firend (a gal) is one. The thing is: most of them 90%, will rely on some drug to work (usually coke).SO it basically makes them fucked up a bit. Then imagine, you're dancing for some old farts, people that could easily be your dad or for some losers. This said, they'll most likely hate men or at least lose respect for them. Also remember that strippers will usually hang out with fellow strippers so this way they feel protected and thats where their big attitude come from.

and is way too judgemental.
Temple01 said:
This whole thread is judgemental. If we want to go that direction let's examine why those women with children are put in the position of having to dance in order to support them and spend time with them. If they are in fact man haters perhaps they have good reason to be such. I have a friend who is working on her MBA- full time student, has two children and works a full time day job. Her ex is loaded to put it mildly but because of the nature of the family business he is able to appear like a pauper on paper. He is taking the children on South American cruises while their mother is struggling to feed and cloth them let alone spend time with them. Dry humping a few horny old men would be a small price to pay for the reduction in her stress level. The ONLY thing that keeps her from doing it is that she knows he would try to take custody if she did. This is probably an extreme example but is also more common than most people realize. I think that behind every stripper with children there is most likely a father that needs his ass kicked.

BTW, if anyone actually visits the link I posted, you'll see that Will Brink did an interview about how strippers can best maintain a good physique--go, Will!
I wish!Daeo said:Another really dumbass thread. I guarantee that most of you guys don't really "know" strippers as you say you do. I know how horrible it can be to make a grand a night and drive off in your Lexus. Oh the pain...

I don't understand your comment. Please elaborate.
To me, there are two kinds of strippers. The Whole F/N Show said:We at least I know it's not just me. I like said, I just kinda dated a stripper one recently and known a few threw friends. Everyone has problems the the problem I'm talking about which prompted me to post this in the 1st place go beyond way those of the average person. That does make them bad people, just a more in need a therapy then a lot of people.

There are the one's who dance just to make money--it's just a job. Albeit not a respectable job in most people's eyes, but a job.
These girls are either in school, or not, but if they are not they are not out partying all day and night and messed up in the head. They are just like the girl who works at Kmart and doesnt go to school......
Then, there are the ones who basically LIVE that life. They come in the dressing room (when I am leaving since I work days) already seeming to be fucked up, loud and obnoxious and everything seems to revlove around thier job/stripper lifestyle.
Most people who have these stereotypes of dancers have obviously met too many of the latter kind, and not encountered the normal girls.
The Whole F/N Show said:agreed. but then or who do it as just a job seem to really be the minority and some of them even get sucked into the lifestyle.
Oh yeah. Plenty of times I have left with around 100........bikinimom said:
After SEVEN HOURS of dancing in THE MOST God-awful shoes and what amounts to the teeny-weeniest bikini on the planet, if I walk out w/$300 I am very satisfied.... $200 is slow but still acceptable. There have been more than a few occasions when I have made LESS THAN THAT - sometimes WITH PAY. So now, who was saying something about a Lexus? In the eighties I heard that YES, it was VERY POSSIBLE for a DANCER - WITH CLOTHING ON - to make $1,000 p/night.... but those days are LOOOOOOOONG gone.
spongebob said:i highly doubt that. the percentage of strippers that make a grand a night is probaly very low. its more like what alexiarenee said.
one of my friends strips, at a good club, and its not a grand a night.
Sorry. But making $333 in one night isn't shabby either. But most of the dancers I know make more than that on a usual night. $500 is the average, but $1000 is VERY common.
your arguement is that just because they make alot of money and drive a lexus that they are happy. the fact is, is that typically the type of individual that does this for a living, has problems. (previous family problems, drug problems, etc,). your not considering the thousands of run down joints where its a dive. there are alot more of those than the upscale gentlemens clubs.
of course there are exceptions.
Sure money doesn't always equal happiness. But it sure does help doesn't it? Think about it. Do I need psychological problems to want to have more money? Or drug problems? Your view on this seems a little discriminatory.
so before you start making guarantee's, and comments on how dumb this thread is, get your facts straight, this thread was about strippers that have emotional baggage, not that money can make you happy.
Where's the guarantee I made? In my eyes this is still a dumbass thread. Calling people trash for what they do, when it does no harm to others is stupid. I haven't met a person that hasn't had "emotional baggage"(I HATE that term). Threads like this are right up there with all the racist bullshit thread as of late...

it may be very common if the girls you know all work at a very upscale gentlemens club. theres two girls that have posted on here that tell you it aint so, not a 1000 a night.

my view on this is from experience, most strippers that i know lead a very lifestyle. drugs, single parenting, lesbiasism. and then when you get to know them, they usually have previous family problems with thier parents.
i think your getting confused though, no where did i say that i disapprove of it or look down on it.

the thread is called "is it me or do most strippers have emotional problems". i dont think anybody here is calling them trash, im not. and second, i believe if you looked at the percentages of strippers that have problems compared to the percentage of women that work as a bank teller, you would find that it would be very different. which is what the thread is trying to ask. there is a difference.
p.s. as far as your gaurentee, you said "i gaurentee most of you dont know strippers like you say you do".
