Is it beneficial to overtrain while on AAS?

The actual quote is:

"There is no such thing as overtraining. There is only undereating, undersleeping, and failure of will."

Lately, I've been wondering if "overtraining" is sort of a myth. I mean, Arnold did pretty well for not training "the right way." Just something to consider, that's all. :)

Arnold also had tremendous genetics... just because the big guys train a certain way doesn't mean the average trainee should do so as well.

The recuperative powers of steroids are over-rated. Sleep is still the main componnt.

Having said that, I believe there's no such thing as overtraining while on a cycle. (As long as you sleep, that is) The increased trauma to the muscle fibers is what allows for more utilization of nitrogen. More repair equals more growth. That's what steroids were designed for.

True, he had good genes. But Lou Ferrigno had shitty genetics (if you watch Pumping Iron, they show him before he started lifting, and he looks like a bean pole). Yet, I believe he still did those 2 hour workouts, like Arnold.

He most likely responded abnormally well to steroids and weight training then... work out like arnold and lou for a month and see how much weight and strength you gain...

No offense, but that kind of sounds like a cop out. When you say that someone was able to gain with brutal workouts, someone else says they had "great genetics." Then, when you point out someone who didn't have good genetics, you hear "it was the steroids."

I dunno. Maybe I'm just old school. But juice + food + sleep + brutal workouts = I'm getting bigger and stronger everyday.

Just my experience/opinions. :)

I really think it's something you have to figure out by yourself to be honest...I think there is definitely something to be said for Dante's philosophies of training with the primary goals being progression of strength, and stimulating as many growth periods as possible...

From my experience so far, 2 rest pause sets for chest every 8 days or so, does more for chest growth than 6-8 normal sets on a single day at a lower intensity every 8-9 days in rotation...

But it is truly individual....I find that with excessive volume I have the symptoms of CNS burnout, and cannot muster the same amount of intensity on subsequent days...which is detrimental any way you look at it....

Do you do DC training frackal?

If so you should participate in the DC discussion sticky on the training board that I started, over 500 posts now :)
