How did you spend your day as you were waiting for power to be restored? At least it wasn't as bad as the big outage down in Texas recently. A big transformer at ThePlanet.net blew down two brick walls and the fire department ordered them not to start the backup generators. They hosted their DNS servers and the DNS control panel servers at the same data center... so their clients not only lost DNS but had no way to change it to point somewhere else.
