Did anyone else feel like they were drying out today?

I was sending messages via myspace to my ef peeps making sure I wasn't the only one with issues. I didn't know what to do to kill time.

Fuggin' lyin' salesdroid weasels wouldn't know what "redundant power" was if you plugged three-phase 240 into their flaccid bums.

There was a link on the main page that went to the local news article about the power outages.

How newb and weird is this, my first thought was oh my god they banned my ass... the next thought immediately transmitted forward, was I did nothing wrong... then loss, then lameness for loss... then I had a taco... it was good.

That's not what happens when you get banned.

i didn't see that

We have one DNS provider (out of several) that gets stinky about trying to set the Time To Live too low. I didn't mind pointing to a "dig we must" page as long as I could reset it in three minutes or so, but wasn't going to commit to doing that if it was going to take twenty minutes just to change things back. Your ISP probably locked in on that nameserver.

At least it wasn't as bad as the big outage down in Texas recently. A big transformer at ThePlanet.net blew down two brick walls and the fire department ordered them not to start the backup generators. They hosted their DNS servers and the DNS control panel servers at the same data center... so their clients not only lost DNS but had no way to change it to point somewhere else.

How did you spend your day as you were waiting for power to be restored? On the phone yelling at fools?
