plifter thinks he's making some kind of revelation???? of course AIDS has historically hit gays harder than straights here in the US.

nice job of skewing the statistics, counting gay drug users in your total for gays but not counting straight drug users in your straight total.

Okay, take out the 48,000 or so gay drug users and it still is overwhelmingly a gay disease. Also, considering the response I got from my previous post, I think this information is a revelation to some people. One person actually thought girls ages 12-16 were the highest risk category for AIDS.

Aren't we forgetting the large segment of drug abusers in the statistics on HIV or are they included in the numbers you have posted? What percentage of them are heterosexual?-I bet most of them..

MD go to the link. Yes there are a lot of drug users with AIDS. It's the second highest risk category.

Exactly. There are thousands of people dying in Africa of AIDS and considering the usual small gay percentage of total population it's pretty easy to figure out that it's not a "gay disease".

How would you feel plifter if you contracted HIV and someone just like you said, "He must be gay since he got it."

But how is your percentage on gay men (10%) figured out? I'm sure they only survey a certain control group of men and then ask them if they are gay right? I mean when ANYBODY asks me if I am I say no, why wouldn't millions of gay men who are insecure say the same thing? So how can this really be related to any one sexual orientation? There are too many variables to rely on someone SAYING something, and denying something. HMMMMMMMMM.........
