There were 400,000 gay men versus 28,000 straight men. When you consider that probably less than 10% of the male population is gay it's pretty easy to see why AIDS is THEIR disease.

Aren't we forgetting the large segment of drug abusers in the statistics on HIV or are they included in the numbers you have posted? What percentage of them are heterosexual?-I bet most of them..

frankly I would rather see statistics on how much longer we can prolong someone's with aids life, or anything break through has been discovered that could one day lead to a cure, Gay, straight, bi, it's going to kill someone we all know sooner or later

Im am in the middle of taking a summer class and it happens to be Human sexuality. we just got through discussing how aids in gay men is going down while all others are going up. The reason basically being that gay men are taking it seriously where as most people think its just a gay thing. Something to think about .

nice job of skewing the statistics, counting gay drug users in your total for gays but not counting straight drug users in your straight total.
