Insulin and Fat Consumption

Singleton

New member
When is the best time to eat fat?

According to info on a thread on mmsfitness website:
"high fat intake after taking insulin can lead to high body fat..."

Isn't it true that insulin will be raised when consuming high GI carbs, and especially consuming hight GI carbs PWO?

Would it therefore make more sense to consume fat moderately, earlier in the day when [natural] insulin levels are lower?

I think you answered your own question.

Yep, Insulin spikes and fat are a big no no... fat throughout the day, with low GI carbs, or before bed with a protein source (to reduce digestion speed) are common practice.

Carbs should be eaten in the morning and after a workout (don't place fat into these meals)

Eat fat between those two times ;) hahahah, just don't mix fat with high glycemic shit, and make sure the fat is of high quality...sat/trans is shite. mono's/omega3s are the best.

Eat protein with the fat to dampen down the insulin response, protein stimulates higher glucagon release for some reason, never researched the physiological reason for that

the reason that carbs are good in the morning/postworkout is because the quantity of insulin receptors on the cell surface, are remarkably high when you've fasted so long (sleep) and when you've started using up your glycogen (weight training)

A huge part of cutting is just managing your insulin

Its due to glucocongenesis.. in the absence of carbs, the body will convert proteins. Wild, huh?

That's right. The majority people fuck up their diets while cutting because they don't understand that managing insulin is the most important part of losing the most amount of fat and sparing your muscle. I believe in combining healthy fats with low glycemic carbs. Post workout though you need high glycemic carbs and no fat.

mixing carbs and fat scare the shit out of me, may be invalid but it's just a compulsion
i only eat protein with carbs or fat with protein...always protein though. fuck, protein is the miracle macronutrient - can use it for everything (energy, structure, messengers)

I've had the best results buy including fat, protien, and carbs with all 6 meals. I don't think it makes a difference as long as you get the ratios right and do the right amount of cardio.

If you're trying to get from 20% BF to 16, then it doesn't matter much. But when you're 10 and trying to get down to 6, it all matters.

myself being a diabetic i inject insulin. so ideally is should only inject when i eat carbs and eat no/low fat. then when my insulin is not active just eat fat.
do i have it?
i wonder if being a diabetic is a blessing or a curse?

Man, being a diabetic I would give priority to the injection WHEN you need it and not according to a BBing schedule.

If you are in a special situation you need to take special measures. Health first Bro.

Keep your fat low when you inject your insulin and eat carbs.
