I had these as well. I would be at about rep 12 of my first set and it felt like the back of my head was going to explode. Went to the doctor, got cat scans, et. Ended up that the tendons that extended into my brain basically had a knot in them. So when pressure was exerted on them they would tense up giving me this pain. I just had to stay out of the gym for a couple of weeks and take flexerail.
