Injection site red and hot - is this normal?

A friend of mine injected into his shoulder two days ago and now it's red and warm to the touch. He is going to the doctor end of the week, but has this happened to anyone else here? What can he expect?

It was a friend or it was you?

If it's turning red and is getting hot to the touch then it's an infection. He's on his way to an abscess.

I agree, but with tren, with prop, and even when I used to use injectable PHs, the site would swell up, be red, and hot to the touch, but would subside in a few days. So i guess it just depends.

sounds like an infection. draw a line around, if redness spreads, go to dr. He most likely has celulitus sp? will need antibiotics.

good advice there

i had cellulitis 3 wks ago in my tri
draw the line and see where it's at the next day
or just go to the doc and tell them either you don't know what happened or something bit you. you'll get some antibiotics and be good to go in a couple days

they'll probably prescribe cephalexin or some stronger anti-biotic. if it gets worse they'll have to drain it, and I hear that sucks.
