there is some truth to that but it was more financial reasons.. I have talked about this many times on here.. the high school I went to there was no juicing going on, it was a poor area...
we did not have money to buy juice.. heck i remember we had an old rusted out water fountain we would drink from, and couldn't even afford to bring bottled water.. for football the managers would take one of those large canisters and put it under the shower, that was the water we would drink for football practice......... some of the richer private schools that we competed against back in the mid 90's... those kids did juice from what i've heard friends say that went there.
I did some andro (which was available but expensive at the corner store) but i took such low dosages it was just a placebo and it was legal at that time. a bottle was like 60 bucks and that would last me the entire season. before the meet I would starve myself to make weight the whole day and then eat a butterfinger candy bar and a couple bananas after weigh in.
if i had a kid or whatever and they were in high school or college sports today I would definately not want them to juice although realistically I would have little ability to stop them.
I can only talk about my experiences and hopefully convince people its not worth it. don't open up a can of worms when you are young.. save it for later.
