Incline Bench

I know it's made for the chest, but let's just say someone wanted to make a routine a fullbody type split and use as few exercises as possible...

Could they use incline bench to stimulate tricep growth also, instead of having to do a pressing movement for chest, and then another one for triceps? I figure incline bench will cause growth in the triceps, anterior deltoids, and chest all in one.

Tris are a secondary muscle on Incline bench. Similar to how the Spinal Erectors would be while doing Squats. Spinal Erectors would be PRIMARY on a Deadlift. To say that you would be satisfied with the amount of growth you would get in the erectors from squats, as compared to deadlifting, is ludicrous in my opinion. So no, I wouldn't rely on Incline Bench alone for Tris. The Tris need primary stimulation, just as the chest would.

agreed. triceps make up most of your arm size, so i work them directly, biceps on the other hand i feel get taken care of by doing heavy back work

dips are a much better excersie to stimulate he tris and chest, but as stated above, you're better off working both out separately.

Dont skip tris if you want that size on your arms. They are the biggest part of the arm (2/3's) when well developed. I doubt theyll grow much at all without any direct work. Its not like your doing 20 sets of chest, and heavy. If that were the case maybe you could get away with it somewhat, Triceps are the fastest way to increased arm growth though. Hope that helps

I would include dips (5 sets, 10-12 reps) and be sure to alter your body position from set to set in order to hit chest/tris to a diffeent degree. Also, you can get a good deal of indirect work for both your bis and tris through chest and back training. I'd be willing to bet you'd get good results by putting together a whole-body program including heavy squats, deads, hanging clean and press, pull-ups, dips, and bench...along with a few others maybe and do minimal dedicated arm work. Give it a try for 4 weeks and see what happens. Shit, I think I might try this myself :D

Well if you did it with a closer grip and steeper angle, your triceps would be used alot more. I guess you'd have to find a middle ground. Should do dips anyway.
