What about Greg Kovacks? He benches over 700lbs for reps.

Where did you hear that? I hope you realize that Musclerag exaggerates Kovak's lifts to sell their Cell-Tech garbage.

I think that people should just enjoy doing whatever floats their boat and respect each others sport or activity in the gym.

That being said I do think the strongmen like you see on TV have bodybuilder, weightlifters and powerlifters beat on all levels.

The majority are huge, not too fat, strong as shit and have to have agility and endurance all at the same time.
If I could have the ultimate of all world's and have the genetics for it I would want to be likt the strongmen overall.

The pro wrestlers(the big ones) are pretty much the same way.

I would no doubt about it rather be a pro bb than a pro weight lifter. Being a pro bb is a matter of respect and majorty of people would be able to see that you are a bb even in clothes or on the beach, but what has a weight lifter got to show. Also take a look at the lifestyles how many lifters are rich good cars, house sexy fitness wives etc. :D

I gotta admit, I always let out a litte schoolgirl giggle (tee-hee!) when I see some musclebound bodybuilder doing his curls with little 25 pound weights, or really "feeling the burn" with 50 pound dumbells on the dumbell press.

I ONLY WEIGH 201 AT THE MOMENT, MY LAST CHEST WORKOUT, I INCLINED THE 130'S ON MY LAST SET (AND THAT WAS AFTER FLAT BENCH) FOR 8 REPS.

I ALSO CURL THE 70LBS DUMBELLS WITH STRICT FORM ON STANDING ALTERNATE CURLS. THAT WOULD BE ON MY LAST SET OF THE EXERCISE AS WELL.

you cant generalize and say stuff like "both powerlifters and bodybuilders use steroids"..yeah, alot do..but equally alot dont..so instead you could say "bodybuilders and powerlifters who use drugs..."..it might seem like a small thing, but coming form a country where people look down thire nose at you when you say you are a bodybuilders, i know that its important to make people understand that there are bodybuilders, and powerlifters that DONT use drugs..thats my point

This argument is a mute point at best. Everyone has their own opinion and it is as valid as the next. I personally have been on both sides of the fence. I started off in a bodybuilder...now I have found my true calling as a powerlifter. I know what it takes to get to a very low bodyfat %. FTR the lowest I ever got was 6%. I have to say that for me personally it is a hell of a lot harder to lift heavy weights than to be ripped...but that's just me.

Besides comparing the two doesn't make sense...just cause we use the same equipment to reach our goals doesn't mean that we can make a valid comparison between the two disciplines.

Bodybuilders lift weights to build muscle...powerlifters build their muscles to lift heavy weight.

And for those that said that powerlifters are jealous because bodybuilders have washboard abs...ever check out the 181 or 198 pound class or even the 220's. Believe it or not, not every powerlifter is "fat ass" that lifts in the SHW class. Besides that at 330 pounds how ripped do you think that some bodybuilders would be...ever see them in the off season. If these "fat asses", as they were called, dieted down for that ripped look they would lose tons of leverage...which would defeat the purpose of their training.

"In w&p lifting there is no measure of how hard you have worked but bodybuilding there is dieting, carb loading, training and intensity"

Actually there is a way to measure...its called weight on the bar. If you've done the work you'll lift the weight. If not you'll miss and possibly get hurt. Do bodybuilders have to worry about getting injured at their competition. Does that mean that their commitment to their sport is greater than bodybuilders...no...just different.

It really doesn't matter though. Just find what you want to do and GO FOR IT!! The only person I have to compare myself to is me. As long as I am better than I was yesterday that's all I can do.

Guys thats ridiculous... Im bigger than you !! ..No I have more strenght than !! Next time just ignore these dumbass. Powerlifting and BB are different thats all.

Actually, off seson they SHOULD be pretty similiar, if you do it right....Bodybuilders should be nbuliding size thougfh using heavyu weights and poerliftiers should be getting stronger all roujnd, by working on a variety of exercises. It is when going for competition tha I think the big difference should happen- the BB starts doing more reps and intensity and dieting to burn fat, while the powerlifter starts zeroing in on his maxes by going progresively lower on his reps. Thus, but the end of the trainign cycle you have achieved different goals.....but at the base they are very much related.

It is a personal choice do you want to look good or do you want to look like shit. I've seen many bodybuilders who pound for pound can hang with just about anyone when it comes to hoisting a weight.
