yea so.. today i felt like a newb even though i've been working out for 6 months. maybe i'm doing things wrong. but... i was working out my shoulders today.. and i didn't kno any exercises to do for it.. all i kept doing was shoulder shrugs and the shoulder press..what are some workouts? i dun even kno the names for it.. not good with names =/ ... well i guess i jus need to widen my knowledge of workouts..cause i always do basic crap. i see people doing these weird things i dun even kno what muscles it targets....

so here's what's goin' on...18 years old.. i'm 140 lbs... well..varies to about 135... 137.. sometimes.. its weird. i'm a skinny guy.. but my arms are jacked as hell... cut and big... i see some middle aged guys who are big and my arms are like as big as theirs.. i have a skinny waist... ew its like a girl. i don't eat that much.. as i should.. only breakfast.. lunch... dinner..and protein drink..(nitro tech).. and also cell tech after my workouts... i dun have the time and money to get food.. =/ which is not good.. my chest is getting bigger and i notice i'm bigger than i used to be.. but i'm not as big as i want to be... and i keep working at it.. but i really think i'm slow at this... its been 6 months... other guys can gain like 32 lbs in two weeks... i just hate being skinny.. its the reason i started going to the gym in the first place.. i just want people to stop saying to me.."dam man your so skinny.."... when people still say that it makes me feel what i'm doing has no use... =( ... i need more motivation... i try... i really do... i try to eat a lot of protein and stuff.. but do i really have time and money to like... go eat every 3 hours? ... i jus can't keep up with it.. how do people do it? i'm so busy and shiet. blah..

First off...i am assuming you are still living at home. So, quit whining about food b/c if you live at home you prob got it better then the rest of us.

Second... It's ain;t gonna happen overnight. If you think you can gain 30 pds in 2 weeks you are fooling yourself. Aim for maybe 15 per year. This would be a massive gain for a person of your bodytype.

Third...Eat more...if you gain weight great...if you don;t...repeat and eat even more....You MUST take in more calories then u burn and i am guessing once again that u have a raging metabolism.

Fourth, because your arms are ripped..ie..have veins in them DOES NOT mean they are by any means huge. Had to say it, but this is the truth and if you weigh what you weigh well they prob are pretty small. Sorry, but you have to deal with reality. I used to be 265 pds of blubber and then i trimmed down to 225 in one summer and all those years i was fooling myself. Don;t take this too far but you have to be a little critical to yourself.

Fifth...use the search function there are links to a gazillion exercises.

yeah man...only 6months, your still a beginner. There are so many things you can do for shoulders...dont worry about what everyones else does, most people dont have a clue(i learned this early) do your own research and make your own program. One more piece of advice....if you dont want to be skinny you need to squat and deadlift

How tall are you? (just curious)

Here would be a good place to start for excercise descriptions. I find the videos helpful.

You can always ask people what they're doing. They may be nice/like the attention. Maybe flatter them a bit too :P.

If you're interesting in training methods there's a sticky thread on this forum... maybe 5th one down or so... but what's most important is to be consistent in your training AND eating. You CAN eat more. Have food that's easy to prepare (i.e. proteinaceous tuna sandwiches!). A lot of it. I'm about as new to lifting as you, but almost everyone here says that when they started they regret the most that they didn't eat enough.

This site is filled with devoted lifters and hopefully some of their devotion will rub off on you like it did me. I'm sure many will be happy to help you anyhow.

Haha long reply, I'm avoiding my work :verygood:

Edit: just read bigsteve's reply. Good suggestions, and I recommend you to learn to squat/deadlift from someone in-person rather than just a website. (Deadlift = http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/ErectorSpinae/BBDeadlift.html)

Great replies from everyone!! Not much I can add. Welcome to the boards brother!! Patience is the hardest part. I was 105-115 when I started lifting at 14 and its 9 years later and Id like to be ALOT bigger and stronger. Without some patience Id go completely insane. It helps me to look towards the future and not be consumed by the present. I like to keep myself out of the present for the most part! Be persistent!

Yep...Got to be patient, and consistant. After you start seeing results you will go back for more and have one hell of a mind-set.

Yes. Also, take pictures and measurements atleast once a year so you can chart your progress. Every little gain adds up over the years. The measuring tape is much more accurate then the scale. I cant explain it, but I was 185 at one point with 16" arms, Now Im around the same weight with nearly 18" arms. BF% doesnt appear to have changed any. I was possibly even leaner with 16" arms. But now all my measurments have increased and my bodyweight is the same. By charting your progress in many ways you will be able to see the progress you have made, and that will motivate you to train harder and eat more. Hope that helps

trust me bro...you are very much still a newbie......lot to learn.....keep at it and read,read,read.........
