According to Lyle Mcdonald, During the first 24hrs of the carb-up you can ingest 8-10carbs per kg of lean body mass for maximum glycogen resynthesis.

According to what I have read, ALA "increases uptake of glucose into the muscle cell by up to 65%" (But lets just assume its 50% for example)

Does that mean that by supplementing 1.5-2g of ALA during the carb up: you can now injest 12-15carbs per kg of lean body mass during the first 24hrs for maximum glycogen resynthesis?

I don't know for sure but I think your theory is wrong. ala will help shuttle glycogen into your muscles That doesn't mean eat more carbs. Follow M X's plan on carb up days.

Gymrat is quite correct.

8-10g carbs/Kg is the recommended intake. The (8-10) number depends on just how much glycogen a person can store once he has depleted it.(Very individualistic)

What ALA does, is channel more of your carbs into your muscles,
and reduces the spillover effect. i.e. You eat too many carbs....well they go to your fat cells then.

ALA also reduces Blood Glucose levels after meals, so that you can get into Ketosis faster. Specially good to use on your last carb meal on Sunday.
