Immersion body composition test?

makedah

If you've had one of these, can you tell me...

What other tests (body comp or otherwise) did it include?
Where did you get the test?
How much did it cost?

I'm getting one done next week at a university-run (but serving the public) sports medicine clinic. It also includes caliper tests and some kind of breathing test (?). It costs $110. I'm trying to see where this falls in the range of costs for this test...

Hey makedah. I go to a local university that does the bod pod, hydro, and caliper all in one appointment. They generlly come out pretty close to eachother, and the LBM is generally within a pound of deviation. I only pay $60 though.

How do you go through the university? Do you call up their kinesiology (sp?) or phys ed departments?

Yes. I used to intern in the physiology lab at KU (University of Kansas), and I still get mine done there. I just call the phys lab, and book it.

The caliper tests were always way off on me. They could never pinch anything on my leg and even on my belly it was still hard. They would get like 7% on the caliper test and 15% on the electrode thingy...a long time ago.
