Im shopping for a bed

Dunk

New member
I want a pillow top. Is a $1000 too much to spend on a full sized complete set (box spring and frame and all)

Kingsdown Cloud Cushion Pillow Top? Are pillow tops any good?

Anyone have any ideas on where to get the best deals.

I dont want a mediocre bed.

I want a nice soft fluffy bed.

I dont want to spend that much.

Hook a nikka up.

OMG, NO, that isn't too much on a full size mattress w/ box springs and frame set. I will be shopping for one soon and I'm going to get the best one I can afford.

I never knew how important a good mattress is until I slept on the best bed I have ever slept on in my life. I believe its a pillowtop. Its better than a hotel bed; its heaven.

Have you checked out Rockaway Bedding for a good deal?

i want one of them foam mattresses

This hotel I stayed at in D.C. has those mattresses. Those are nice. Very firm. You don't feel the other person get out of bed.

Dunk, is there a Mattress Warehouse near you?

your parents won't let you sleep in theirs anymore?

ok, more seriously- compare prices- sleepy's, 1800-mattres, and macy's during a bedding sale sometimes has great prices.
i want to get a memory foam mattress, not a pillow top. pain in the ass getting sheets to stay on those suckers.

either matress warehouse or some times sams club has pillow tops.....that is a great price for the whole thing.....

A bed is not something you want to get based on what's cheapest. It's SO worth it to spend as much as you can on one!

I spent $2500 on a queen size from Basset furniture. Its a pillow top which is the norm, I love it....My old roomate had swedish foam which was more and its a king and he hated it....
I remember mine came cotton free I think, Meaning it had all syntheic material, and bugs and mites dont harbour in those like cotton material ones....Just a thought. ALso has a lifetime warranty except for stains...ewww. But on bumps or dips or shit...Its damn comfy.....so Im told :)

Nah. None in NY.

This kings down is so comfy but i hear you can get really nice beds for less than 700.

I was told to look into Eurotops. They are popular now.

I suggest you move this to the girls chat here....There is lot of gals there with a ton of bedroom experience.

KINGSDOWN ARE AWESOME!

I order those for clients all the time and $1000 is a great price.
What firmness are you getting?

When I need a new one that's the one I'm going to get.

Need a new beautiful bed to go with your new mattress?

http://charlesprogers.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_31&products_id=198

It's a platform so all you would need is the mattress no boxspring.

He said 1000 to my frontdoor for a full size bed.

Firmness im not sure. So this is a good mattress??

im not spending 1000 more on a bed.

i like nice soft beds. i like serta 2. both my past beds were serta very soft and comfy. i always used two down covers on the matress before the sheets to make it extra comfy.

just bought a new queen for 799.00 came with a free down comforter but i bought a bedroom set with it so it was discounted.

Consider you're going to use that bed 8-10 hrs/day for years...don't scrimp.

Yes.

Go to a sleepy's and try them out.

They have four of them in Bridgehampton from soft to extra firm (I like the middle range myself).

I lucked out on mine. About 5 years a go I met this dude that worked at a factory and he stole a bunch of sets and sold them for $400. Best fucking bed ever, chicks fall in love with it. He said they retailed for $1400 - $1800 back then. Queen size, double pillow top, one side wool (for fall and winter) the other side silk (for spring and summer).

I did lay on it. Today.

I actually called the Borgata Casino in AC. I had a room there this weekend. They have the most comfy damn beds. I just found out that they have Sealy Encore Plus's with a "Mattress Topper"

Im gonna see if i can one of those priced. Damn thing eats you up.

I have a Stearns & Foster - double sided pillowtop so you can flip them over -I don't think they make them that way anymore though.

I recomend Spring Air pillow top in the back supporter line. $1000 or so for a queen. Its firm under the pillow top and has great side support. Tough mattress that me and my gal have .. abused over the last 2 years.

I got a pillow top on my bed now, and I think it's seriously fucking with my back. I wish I would have gone for a harder matresss.

buddum bum! PSH!

Velvett- I went with the Kingsdown Cushion Cloud Plush Pillow Top. Got the guy down to $900 to my front door.

Bought a $700 Sleigh Bed for $500 to my door from Raymore and Flannigan.

I have an airconditioning blanket connected to cooling liquid that run in the fabric for hot nights

1000k for full is prob higher end - I bought a Masterpiece ? bedding from I think Sleepys one year ago - Queen with the box, the frame etc - Is the most amazing bed EVER think altogether was 1000 with delivery /removal all of that

bro you spend a third of your life in bed...personally i spend half of it in bed...so spend as much as you can imo

brothabill can you link me to the cooling blanket youre talking about? thats a great idea!

Fuck all that, have a 10" thick Tempurpedic delivered, and say hello to the bliss of heavenly slumber, and goodbye to any joint/back pain from sleeping on that canvas shit...

I work in a bedding factory. Been there for the past 3 months. I can get a queen pillowtop with the 3" ventilated visco for about $150. I need to stay on long enough to get 4 more matts and then it's time to move on. My daughter now sleeps in a new twin matt costing $750 in the stores, I paid $90. Freaking amazing.

thats what I want next- the tempurpedic.

I have a duxiana i think 7 something or other right now, it's cool but too thick.. I went to this from some sealy pillowtop and although this one is pretty freakin nice, I think I wanna go tempurpedic. My place is very contemp and a beast of a mattress (we're talking close to 30 inches thick as the box is part of the mattress) just doesn't fit in... I think I might get the euro bed from tempur, unfortunately I haven't seen even ONE of them in person!

There is this used bed for sale by me that is badass. It is a king size round blue velvet bed. It has a built in tv and stereo. I'd get that bitch to revolve and vibrate. It's only like $400.

I've sold a lot of Tempurpedics - The mark up is roughly 100% btw.

I think they're weird, too hard even though you sink into them they're still hard and you can't sit on the end or side on your bed.

But hey - whatever you're into right?"

^if you guys are still doign it in the bed you have other problems...

what chu talking about?

Lets see ... in the bed with all positions, edge of the bed with me standing, her bent over the bed, her on her knees on the bed with me standing, etc.

when you go at it hard you need some cushioning and bounce. We also employ the couch, the office chair, the dining table, anything she can brace herself against ;)

The tempurpedic sucks you in and its hard to move around on.

that's what I'm worried about... I haven't done heavy enough research to switch yet. But I do have a family member who would sever a limb to have my current bed so ridding myself of it will be a breeze.

Velv... what's the creme de la crem of beds from your experience?

You know I can't really say it's totally personal but in my recent experience the Kingsdown was best received by clients with summer houses and a lot of guests and the tempurpedic was the most horrific.

I can say this for sure myth wise, firmer isn't better - it's what you feel is comfotable, more expensive does not equate to more comfotable, coil count is a sales tool - anything over 400 is not neccessary, and specialty tops in silk and cashmere just go to waste once you put the sheets on.

Mattresses have similiar mark ups that glass does so buyer beware.

i've heard a few things about the Tempurpedics also. Not positive things
