Well after waiting a zillion months for a zillion waivers..

I'm in the national guard. 97Y. I hate MEPS btw. Boot camp next july.

They promised me I'd have first crack at destroying Lord Vader and battling the evil Empire Scum. I'm so glad to fight for the rebellion. Those years of video games are gonna pay off.

I'm part of the Bush war machine. Bitch away! :)

and its not boot camp its basic taining.
 
what's the diff between boot camp and basic training?

by the time i'm 'deployable' will be jan/2008. i hope i don't get deployed to iraq for 18 months. not cuz of me - but cuz my parents would freak.

boot camp is were parints send there brats when they cant get them to act right.its a millatary school tipe thing.
basic training is were you are going.to lern how to kill and be a soldger.call it boot camp in frunt of a drill sargint will smoke the shit out of you fore it.

so essentially the same for me in terms of what i can expect. Just different wording. Gotcha.

it's fort something in kentucky. I hope it's not too hot. I'm E-4. I think i'll get a whopping $1400 or some shit per month. I'm prolly gonna have to save up or move b4 then.

"Boot Camp" is what civilians call it, "Basic Training" is what they call it in the military. Kind of like gun/weapon or boat/ship. Adherence to strict nomenclature is part of the way that they exercise mind control.
 
i'm e4. How long til i'm e5 and can brag about being a sgt? funny, first day and i'm already higher rank than a lot of people at the armory. lol.

oh, i'm correct about the $1400 or so during 'basic training' right?

no nothing even close bro.youre going to fornt knoxs in kentucky.its one of the hardist basics the army has to offer still.there will be no girls there and it will be about 80% infultry there with you.
youre e4 now to get to e5 you have to have 6 months time in grade and 1 year time in service.of corece you can get companey wavers fore both of them but they only give them to the best of the best.ie above 300 pt score expert in riffel and other things that make you look good on paper.once you have the time or the wavers you will still need to make the cut off points to get to nco sargent.youre m.o.s 97y cut off score is allmost allways 550.
you can get 100 points fore a comander recamundatoin,up to 250 points from the board 50 or so points from pt score and same fore rifile score.so that still leaves you with 50 points you have to come up with from corispandance coresis or college classis and that pravided you max out with points from everything elce.once you do all of that depanding on youre compainy they will pin the stipes on you or not.you will still have to go to youre b noc training to be a sargint fore real once you have copleted that training they will have to pin the stipes on you and you will finaly get the pay upgrade.

"not even thogh youre company may have pind the stipes on you that dont mean the army as a hole recedzizes you as a nco and pays you as such.

what are these 'points' you speak off, and what does non-commissioned officer mean? i was handed no docs about describing those terms.

Lets put the boot camp basic training to bed. Ive been a US Marine for 9 years BOOT CAMP Is what Marines go to Basic Training is what all the others go to. Same thing really Marines Is just a lot harder. lol Congrats - Scooby
