But those WSM competitors can get their HR's to 200 or more during some of their events, so you're telling me that in "actual" combat your HR doesn't get close to 200? Than maybe you didn't see "actual" combat. The guys at the gun store are all Marines and army, that was one of the first things they said they had to learn when shooting. BB I'm a former 0311 myself and current LEO, I'm 100% with you, there's way more to it than elevated heart rate, I've had a discharge in the line of duty as an LEO elevated heart rate don't mean shit, audio exclusionary, tunnel vision, and fucking mittens for hands. Everyone is a fucking expert until there looking through their rear sight. It's a shitty situation and my life was hell for almost 5 months after especially in mass where I work.

Anyway, it would deter perhaps a single assailant but it could definitely be an incentive for a couple guys. They walk up inside buffer zone before they even attack...you know what that means? The distance you had to draw your firearm and possibly use it is already gone before they even signify their intentions. 3 guys get within 6 feet of you, you are getting beaten and that gun is now the property of someone else and will likely be used in a crime. Dude this isn't the medievel ages where dudes draw their swords and charge from 50 ft out. The walk up close to you on the sidewalk and then flash on you. ANd since they see that pistol hangin off your belt guess what they're gonna do...crowd you and keep your hands from pulling.
