I'm doing a competition guys!

Its gonna be shortly after Christmas. A local show, nothing big. I talked to a trainer I know today, who use to compete and I'm gonna hire him to help me shortly after Christmas. I'm gonna try to pack on another 15-20lbs before time to start the contest prep. How long do you guys who compete usually do your contest preps for? He told me it would be best to go 16-18 weeks. He's gonna plan my diet and training out for me during this time. I don't want to do it half assed, I am entering to win. What drugs could you recommend I use during this time that I will be preparing for it? Hopefully I can enter around 205-210lbs @ 5-6% that is my goal anyway. Im thinking maybe some Winstrol/Clen/ECA.. just something mild like that..

drexx, ronin? u guys out there tonight? bumping one time before bedtime.. ill check this in the morning. if any of u guys who compete have advice for me.. email me at [email protected] i'd appreciate it

something along the lines of winstrol, primo, Fina..Considerable amount of cardio, maybe add some anavar, and ECA stack....

contest prep time all depends on what body type u r. i am lean all year round,no more than 8%bf. as well i cut up very easy, so i dont sart my contest prep until about 8 weeks out. most trainers will tell you to do 16 week prep. in a 16 week prep, the first 4 weeks is mostly just cutting the junk food out of your diet, but you still eat high calories. but theres really no need unless you carry alot of offseason weight. most guys i know do about 12 weeks. make sure to keep your protein extremely high, and try to eat clean carbs. alot of guys like to cycle there carbs(high days and low days)

anyway, good luck. definetly let us know how the show goes.

P.S. make sure you r dark enough, that was my biggest prob at my first few shows.

Spunky! good luck!

the main thing for your success is how faithfull & true you are to YOURSELF !! you cheat on diet, it affects only YOU! You slack on a workout, it affects only YOU!

Remember, there is somene else out there training for the same show, and you can bet your ass they are training harder, eating better!!

when i competed it as always a huge mission to be 100% true. No excuses, you might be able to lie to other people and give excuses , but come pre-judging. You alone will know if you gave it your absolute best. Trained as hard as you could, ate as perfect as you could. When you do this and follow thru on this , you will have the most awesome feeling . You are going to really learn alot about yourself in the coming months. It's something I can't realyy explain but at 3-4 weeks out from your show, when it's 2;30 in the AM and you can't sleep cuz your metablosim is racing, and you are having these intense carb cravings... when you DO NOT eat that junk in the freezer. You will get a feeling of self empowerment, of success over your biggest obstacle, your own will!! That is when you will say "Now, i know what Momwarndu was talkin about" and it will make you stronger!!!

Feed on those small daily successes

Kick Ass Spunky!!! Wer'e right there with ya!!

Great news buddy! I do not have any experience with comps but if I can help you out in any way just let me know and I will do what I can for you. It's always good to hear an Elite bro is going on stage

If you guys wanna know what scares me about entering...... its the fact of getting up on stage and wearing basically enough to cover your dick and part of your ass... lol. You'd have to be really confident to do that and its something I'm gonna have to work on alot before competition time. That would make me nervous more then anything, is just being almost naked in front of alot of people.... my package is really small soo im not gonna look good in those posing trunks. LOL

ooohh.... I hated that... My first show... I tried my posing trunks on once at the store and didn't put them on again till the show!!! LOL

I fuckin hated them!!!!!!

Congradulations on deciding to compete!

It's good that you got a trainer if he knows his stuff and he isn't charging you a fortune. A good trainer will make your life much easier while contest prepping.

While preparing for a show you have lots of stress so if you can avoid some of it go for it. You wont have to worry about making a diet, constantly tweaking it and always re-evaluating yourself because you don't feel on track.

It's good to have an objective eye on your physique to tell you that you are on track but I am too cheap to pay someone for things I already know :)

If you are cheap like me then you can avoid the trainer and just started posting on the competitors board on Anabolic Fitness.

http://anabolicfitness.infopop.net/2/OpenTopic?a=frm&s=702093973&f=2540953661

You can post your progress there and pics and we will give you honest opinions on how to make it.

My last show I started dieting 12 weeks out and at that point I was 12% (too fat). I was not ready for the show.

On the calipers 7-site method I was 4.3% but I didn't look ready. For my next show I will aim to get at 3% by the caliper. In real life that is about 6%. If a pro BB would be tested by a caliper test usign the 7 sites on contest day they would be about 2% or 5% in real life.

I suggest you to start 16 weeks out if you are ready before the show then maintain your condition atleast you will have time to be ready and if you are using the calipers as a guide aim for 3% not 5-6%.

My first show I was 5% on the calipers and I was the fatest man on stage :)

Now the drugs....

I recommend being on for the last 12 weeks. Test, Winny, Eq, Fina and Primo are the AAS of choice.

I say start stimulants only 8 weeks out. Alternate 2 weeks clen and 2 weeks ECA.

Use T3 for the last 6 weeks in this fashion 25,25,50,50,75,75

Cardio start off with 20min per day and buildup from there. Don't go over more than 2 x 60min per day.

Check the competitor board for the last week details..

Oh and for your small package take some viagra before stepping onstage that will make you more confident :)

To get more confident on stage you need to get use to wearing your posing trunks. You should start practicing your posing at least 6 weeks out. This will also make you harder. My last competition was a big show and there were quite a few competitors who practically made up there routine on stage and it was terrible. Learn the correct way to pose and practice holding them for 30-60 seconds. It sounds easy but if you are doing it right it will be tough to hold the pose for 15 seconds your first time. You won't be out of breath like the other competitors if you do this. - cbeaks

thanks guys, i appreciate it all the input. The trainer is costing me a good bit, but like I said I don't know shit about preparing for a competition so I think it will be worth it. Plus I will only be using him 3 days a week, he's basically there for diet help and to give me some motivation.

bro...i would start your prep immediatelly...and i will tell you why.from your pics,i beleive that you just came off a bulking cycle...well,cutting that fat off will take time...if you really want to place well...concentrate on lowering your bf% and stick w/ compounds that will aid you in your quest to drop bf and add or maintain LBM...winny is a good choice along w/ anavar...your diet must be razor sharp(since you've just finished bulking)...cardio 2 x day would be a nice addition to help in lowering bf...START NOW because you r new at this game and you will avoid dissapointment...this is just my opinion...w/ your best interests...i would love to see a fellow ELITE member kick some ass on stage...ps:sorry...i can't help you w/ the small package...lol

Drexx and DaBigThinker are right , listen to them. You need to diet at least 12-14 weeks to allow enough time to get rid of the body fat and at the same time keep the muscle mass.

Make sure you do cardio but don't overdue it , 20 - 45 minutes a day is good to start and then twice a day as you get closer. Don't do anything fancy with your diet , just clean food and keep the carbs and fat in check.

Be prepared. Tan early , get the posing truncks early. Register early. Get everything you need ahead of time because you don't want to rush at the last minute especially when that is the last thing you feel like doing at 5% bodyfat.

Oh .. and make sure you practice your posing... you don't want to cramp up on stage.

TRUE ! !
reason #1 It should be second nature by the time you get on stage. Don't want to get nervouse and forget a move or go to fast for your music. If It hasnt changed since I competed, prejudging is done w/ no music. (? anyone confirm that?) so you need to have your timing down in your head!

#2 It will bring out muscle seperation and defanition. I practiced about an hour a day after workouts for the last 3 weeks!!!
Ouch!

#3 Everyone focuses so much on upper body and how it shows during the routine. Whne you practice in front of a mirror, wear a sweatshirt and your trunks.. Go thru you routine and focus only on your legs, how they look, positioning ., etc. Youl be suprised what a big Diff this makes!

I'll think of more..lol

Hey Spunky they sell padded posing shorts in FLEX mag. A king kong bulge in your shorts will give you some confidense on stage.

look in the back of musclemag, they always have ads for those booster briefs. or u could stuff it with a sock;)

anyway on a serious note, havin a small package makes them fit better, i think the companies that make posing trunks assume all bb have small cocks, cause those things are damned uncomfortable.

also, theres not many people there to check out your package, they just wanna see if youre ripped and big.

lots of good advice guys.. i had my bodyfat checked yesterday..... im almost embarassed to admit it.... i weighed in : 252lbs @ 15.2% bodyfat.. geez!!!! Im gonna start 18 weeks out I think just so I make sure I have PLENTY of time... thats alot of bodyfat to lose..

252lbs @ 15.2% is still very massive!

How tall are you?

Lean Mass = 213.69 lbs
Fat Mass = 38.30

You need to aim for 3% so that means if you keep your lean bodymass the same you need to get to 220lbs.

You have 32lbs of Fat to lose :)

32 / 18 weeks = 1.77lbs per week

1.77 x 3500 = 6222 cals deficit per week is needed to meet your goal.

So make sure you have a deficit of 889cals per day.

I guess you will have to keep your calories around 3000cals per day.

Breakdown calories... 50% Protein, 35% Carbs, 15% Fats...

Im not sure how accurate that reading is.. it was taken on one of those electronic meters where they stick the pad to your foot and one to your arm and it somehow calculates bodyfat... no clue how accurate that is. if anyone knows, shoot me an email, or let me know what way you guys use to check your bf.

The test you did is bio-impedance and it sucks!

It varies greatly depending on how hydrated you are.

You maybe leaner.

Get someone to measure your bodyfat with the 7 site caliper method.

One big pointer: Do not change too much other then your diet and cardio. The drugs you used to put on your muscle you should also use when dieting, just know when to stop them to eliminate water retention. Also continue to lift as you have, do not suddenly start doing 20 reps a set because that is counterproductive. These are the biggest mistakes first time competitors make.

Agreed w/ Drexx..again...do the b/f test by caliper, have the same person take the test for you each time, same sights. muc better..impendance sucks...espcially as your water changes during a contest prep diet

I have a show coming up this weekend. I was'nt too worried about getting up in front of a crowd with just the trunks on but it was in the back of my head.
I was then approached by a male exotic dancer co. about 3 weeks ago. Since then I've danced for 2 shows, 3 songs and made $500. Lets just say that if you can grind a girl wearing only a small pair of underwear in front of 150 others just waiting for you to come to them next. I'm sure the show will be a breeze.

make sure also, that u do the test 3 times, and then take an average. it can really vary from test to test.
