Doesn't siboxin (sp) help opiate addicts get off the stuff, or does that just work for Oxycontin?

One of my best friends and his brother have been strung-out on Oxy before. Now, they can't get anywhere near it -- total abstainance is their only choice. For some reason, once I person is strung-out enough on oxy/roxy it seems like they can't ever moderate it again. I wonder if that's true of all opiates.

i have friends in the aa program who use benzo's time to time.
e.g. xanax, klonopin for panic attacks. they seem to be doing
fine and they stay sober.

i have had to take narcotic pain pills........weirded me out for
a few days but i didn't relapse.

I've had my battles with drinking.

I can drink one drink and walk away. I prefer not to though. After 5-6 beers it is over and I cannot stop unless I blackout or pass out.

I have Hydrocodone in the house and I have no need to touch it. I also use Ambien on occasion. 30 pills lasts a year.

I also quit chewing.

I think alcoholics can use other drugs with no problems with total safety.
