I have read both books - they are great.

Its always good to see a different view on "faith".

I'm justing waiting for Curling to pop up in this thread and say we are all going to hell...lol

Older than that, called Holy Blood, Holy Grail. Guess these author/scholars are pissed about Da Vinci Code

"Holy Blood Holy Grail" by Baigent, Lincoln, and Lee is a fun little book, you'll enjoy it. The authors are guilty of building their hypotheses on a foundation of assumptions though. As you get near the end of the book, their flights of illogic and fallacy are quite frustrating at times. It's still a good read though.

Their book on the Dead Sea Scrolls is good too.

The Sion Theory wasn't the exclusive property of the authors of Holy Blood / Holy Grail. All Brown did was wrap this theory in a cool plot with great artworks from Da' vinci.

Jesus, cool, enlighted dude who just wanted people to get along and not fuck over each other.

I have not heard of any non-scriptural confirmation that any jesus christ existed. Its funny how sensitive an issue is 'jesus'. Its a much touchier issue than the supposed existence of god.

what you're talking about seems to mirror another book, i think it's called "the life of jesus" or maybe "the hidden life of jesus"

something like that, saw it in the university library. pretty boring read
