was a young 17, went out drinking regularly (but you didnt know she did), had sex regularly with a few different guys her age (but you didnt know she had) and tehn you found out she was seeing a 25 year old guy for purely sexual relations (ie she was forward and said straight out, no relationship, sex only, ever), how would you react?
 
hard to imagine since I don't have kids, but I imagine I'd be upset, angry, dissappointed.. but I'd still love her of course.
 
i would kick her butt....and then cry
 
I'd tie a thin piece of rope to a brick and swing for her skull.

A little chemical burn might be in order too. On her face.
 
Charge the guy with statutory rape.

Wait until he's out of jail, tear the skin off his neck and staple it to his face.

Put my daughter on restriction until she was 18.
 
Send her to a nunnery or convent, to Outward Bound or Military school....

Sorry dude, I don't know of anywhere, at least here where 17 is stat rape.
 
I don't plan on having kids, but lets say I did and this scenario happened

It would be tough because on one hand I know her behavior is somewhat wrong and destructive, but on the other hand I was once a young, horny and rebellious 17 year old that had sex every chance I got (with girls of course). So I gotta remember that I went through that age and try to understand/sympathise with her.

The best thing to do, IMO, might be to open your self up to her so that she opens up to you and be able to talk freely about sex and birth control. She's already having sex, no matter what restrictions you put on her, she's not going to stop. If she's going to be a slut, you can atleast instruct her on the methods of safe sex. The last thing you would want is for her to wind up pregnant or deceased.

The above is all theoretical, of course. One never acts rationally whe nactually faced with these scenarios.

how about this.. i just bought a house.l. my neighbors daughter is 17 and i'm 21.. and we are both attracted to each other.. been going out couple times.. daddy doesn't know yet.... :-/ i'm going to talk to him and ask him if its alright to see his daughter.. or just wait 2/3 months till shes 18?

Depends... how attached to each other you are... 2-3 months is a long time to hide new passion....
 
Well i'd tell her to stop being a slut and learn the art of being the 'tease' and using guys for money. Train her for the wonderful world of being in her 20's. She can enjoy her slut period when she hits 40 and starts hangin' out with the rest of the old hags.

yeah.... but i'm responsible 21 year old.. i just bought a house, have a 2004 car and bike and a damn good job... i'd think he'd be happy that i'm respectful and talk to him about it..
 
I'd feel bad about what I did, but then I figure two unbroken legs didn't do here much good in the past.

You knwo, if it gets to that point, you really do have to question the jon you did as a parent. What can you do. Ground her, get her counseling, try to communicate to her where she is heading with her life.

I can't help but think that there are underlying issues that need to be dealt with if that is actually the case.. The behavior is a manifestation of those issues.

What pisses me off is that if it were a 25 year old girl and a 17 year old guy, then jail time would seem ludicrous to most people.

Also, at 17, these girls know exactly what they're doing. I'm 20 and pulled a 17 year old a few weeks ago at a club, she was practically raping me. I felt bad about it because she seemed so young so i didnt meet up again.

Yeah I'm sure you would be pissed, but most likely not quite as pissed as if it were your daughter. Anyway that's beside the point.

The point is that if it were a 25 yr old woman with a 17yr old guy there wouldnt be any talk of jail time.

Hell no there wouldn't. Maybe my view will change when I have a kid but if my 17 year old son is banging a 25 year old chick.... :beer:
 
I'm a cool uncle, but I have a feeling that I would be a strict father. If I had children I would be far too protective to be my child's best friend. I also don't think that being their best friend is always good for the child or parent.

As for this situation, sit her down and talk to her about the dangers and consequences of her actions.

I hear this all the time from guys in their mid 20's through mid 30's about girls even younger than 17.

Certainly there could be prosecution and jail time. Juries might be more inclined to therapy with a woman than jail time, there are cultural biases involved. But in my estimation the crime is no less severe.

These are control issues. What adult could possibly want to have sex with a child? I can't imagine my anger and reaction would be any less severe were it a woman
 
I would cry first but then I would sit her down and try to find out the root of the problem. I am sure I'd question my parenting skills, where did I go wrong, what could I have done to prevent it.

That is one of the worst nighmares A mother could have.

i dont agree with it since i think that 25 is too old for a 17 year old

but in noway is a 17 year old a child
 
i would say, "looks like i picked the wrong week to quit drinking!" then i would say, "looks like i picked the wrong week to quit smoking!" actually i don't want to think about this because this a nightmare for every guy out there who has a daughter they care about.


please please please please. if i have a daughter please have her go to harvard and then wait to get married to have sex.
 
One thing in life is true and hopefully I will get that across to my kids. EVERY ACTION has a reaction. Everything you choose do in life will have an effect on WHAT you become in life. Choose wisely, some actions canNOT be taken back or reversed.

If you learn that in life, you`re ahead of the game.
 
Jail time? WTF You people better find out which state. Half of them in this country the age of concent is 17. I know for a fact it is in Texas, where I live.
 
My uncle was 25 when he met his wife which was 16 at the time. They met a wedding. He was cypriot and so was she. Her father got his family name, went to the village in Cyrpus that his family is from and found out about his family. He heard nothing but good things, one year later they were married and 25 years later they are still married......I guess it all depends on your point of view, but this topic did say sex only and no relationship
 
I always wanted to think that I would let my kids live their own lives, since I had a very protective parent, but hell no. Not in a case like that. I'm not sure exactly what I would do, but it wouldn't be pretty.
 
Lets see...... Well I myself would for one blame todays society! You know you can try your hardest to accomplish something like raising your kids with morals, and there will always be a 2nd or 3rd party trying to swing them in the wrong direction. Kids will be kids. I really want a daughter when I decide to have kids but this is a major fear! I guess today yo try to steer them clear of this kind of stuff but at the same time educate them about being safe. I wuold seriouslly freak the fuck out if i found that out about my duaghter. I guess I will deserve it after all the crazy stuff I did with women in college!!
 
You could disown her, then wait a few years to see if she ends up being a leach to the rest of society, or actually uses it as a kick in the ass to get her act together and try to make it on her own. In time, she could end up a big success, famous, the works, all because you took the initiative for her to start acting responsibly.

Or, you could simply say that you don't approve of her behavior, and later take her to dinner at her favorite restaurant. If she has any sense in her head, she could start feeling remorseful, or conscience-stricken, and start to understand that she disappointed, as well as hurt you.

In all likelyhood though, she's probably just being a teenager. She won't understand what life's really about for another ten or so years.

These are just random suggestions. She's your kid; raise her as you see fit.

Sometimes overprotecting a kid, a good-at heart-kid, anyway, will fuck their head(mentally/emotionally) up for a looooong time afterwards.

You have to keep a level head.

I would sit her down and talk with her. Make sure she understood about
birth control and sexual diseases. Make sure she was aware of using (condoms)!

If you don't she's going do it behind your back. And then you take a risk of
her getting pregnant or some kind of disease.
 
Daughter would be out of the house, bloke would be getting a visit and 'chat' from me.


But............I did much, much worse stuff, so does that make me a hypocrite?

At 17 my daughter would be making her own decisions in her own life, her sex life would be her own business.

I would hope that I have taught her to be self-confident, safe and determined to succeed in her life. Not to be some jerkoff's sextoy.
