If you train upper body, but don`t train legs, then you are a p*ssy!

I saw on of these guys at the beach a while ago. Funny as hell. He was walkin around tryin to look all tough with a mean lookin face and all while people snicker at him as he walks by. He had the nerve to wear one of those thong type swimsuits. His arms were bigger than his friggin legs!!!

My gym is full of dude's with great uppers and pathetic lowers. Can you say Foghorn Leghorn.
I'd like to go up to one of them while their in the squat rack doing curls and say, "Hey Foghorn - how many more sets of show curls do you have?" But, I know that would only lead to a violent altercation in which I would be forced to remove someone's eyes from their orbits. I can always tell the dude's who are embarrassed of their legs, cuz you will never see them in shorts.

Arnold used to call them Gym Bodies. That is pretty much every guy at my gym. Benches full, squatracks empty.

I second that. I hate it, my damn workout partner will do upper body on the nights I do my legs because he sucks at it. Drives me crazy thats why I pick on him

That is just one thing I'll never understand, why people who think they are bb's then proceed to neglect half of their body, it's almost as if they are going out of their way to look ridiculous, and after all the effort they put in they end up looking worse than and getting disrespected by even the most average guy on the beach. My weakest muscle group would be my arms/bi's so I train them at every opportunity, because a physique cannot be considered aesthetic until it has some form of symmetry!

I'm grateful for all you bird-legged BB's, I can always get on a squat rack, no matter how crowded the gym is. If I see 1 other guy deadlifting when I am, it will be the first.... now if I wanted to do concentration curls with the 20 lb dumbbells, or do cable crossovers, I would probably have to wait in line.

I think dudes feel like skinny legs give them the illusion of a bigger upper body, kinda like how fat people wear black to look thinner, I guess.

you guys shouldn't be talking i seen pics here of some of you guys with the same problems - Chicken Legs

I don't train my legs more than my upper body, but they seem much bigger than the rest. I have big strong legs for my built, and the rest of my upper body is so-so. I squat, I deadlift and so... I too think that too many people train chest and bis only. They look like fools. But I wish I could have a strong upper body too:bawling:

Yes if you wanna have tight good looking ass that woman loves you must do squats etc. I onder if those guys know that many baby looks first guys ass :D

Welll i'm about to hit on the gym to pump my lakes :D

i can't understand why people dont work thier legs. to me, there's nothing like crushing your legs and crawling out of the gym into your car... pulling yourself upstairs into your house, plopping on the couch and curling up with a nice big meal......... fuck.. i'm hungry. :)

Well my buddys excuse for not training legs:
"Dude, all that shit about not training legs is bullshit. I mean, your legs will catch up since they have to hold up all that extra weight youll put on while doing upper body."
My ass! He is also one of those guys that claim
"Oh man, back then I used to be huge, twice as big as I am now, and with a beer gut. "
The beer gut part is just to make it believable. My ass.

The only thing that will happen if you dont train legs or lower back is you will be very unbalanced, and can cause some serious pain. You will probably have weak ab development if you do not squat.

I love squats. My ass is massive and so far I get nothing but compliments. Personally Im not really fond of it, but since it's highly regarded, I'm gonna have to change that view point.

I seen this guy with a huge upper body and very skinny legs. Now that is sick. I felt like tipping him over.
Genarr3

Hehe, at least I attempt to make my legs larger. Damn things wont seem to grow.

Is it just me or do calves seem hereditary? The reason I ask is because I am the only one in my family with any muscle mass at all. Bastards wont grow for shit.

At times I almost envy the cartoon bodybuilder with the huge upper body and no legs, I have great genetics for lower body, on a good day can squat 4 plates/side and deadlift 5 plates/side for reps (and am natural until last week), but have a fuck of a time building my upper body..........

i kinda look like a lite bulb if I have shorts on, I have no calves my thighs are good size though, but it looks like they are being held up with sticks. I think what people fail to realize how important legs are, especially squats. When I first started training and doing squats I hated them and didn't do heavy with them. I was always wondering why my bench military press and pull downs weren't going up much, so I started doing heavy squats and BAM everything went up bench curls pull downs, I was even pumping out 6 more pull ups, big difference when you do your legs especially squats. The only way I really grow is heavy squats!

I have to agree fully with this one. My buddy that gears with me does not work his lower body (other than cardio) AT ALL.

I do at least two days of legs a week, not to mention the riding I do.

For god's sakes, it's 1/2 your body...

Speak for yourself buddy - everyone is different and has different genetics.

I have always had big legs for the rest of my body. My uppder body has always been a bit small in proportiion.

If I train legs with the same intensity that I train my chest and arms, my legs are TOO big to get a good, overall, proportional look. So I balance it out.

So stop worrying abouyt what other guys do or dont do, and do what works for you.

I have learned this as well, I was doing alot of ab work, and develpoing a hard muscular mid-section, but my waist was getting BIGGER, too big for what I want actually, so I backed off.

So, for me, I HAVE to work chest, shoulders and arms more. And have to do relatively less on legs in order for things to balance.

And I stopped doing targeted ab work althogether. I MUCH prefer that "V" look that Arnold, and Frank Zane, had as opposed to the "tree trunk" look that many laters BBer's have.

To each his own.

like riker, i have naturly large legs, and really dont work them out often these days. mainly the reason is becasue im on my legs all day at work, and after a leg day my legs get very shaky, weak and sore. even back in the days when i worked them often, they would always be that way. i cant go to work like that, it would stop me from being able to do my job, and would put me at risk of falling and being killed.
so dont put these guys down, most probly have reason they dont. besides, why the fuck do you care.

Evolks......get a laugh,bro.........

LOL - that cartoon is great.

Sure, there are a lot of guys like that - its a joke.

Many times they are also the idiots doing curls in the squat rack. GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrr........

The point is that everyone needs to do what they need to gain an overal look. And yeah, some people have a very wierd idea of what that "look" should be ..... taken to the extreme, it looks ridiculous.

For me, if I train legs anywhere NEAR as much as I do upper body, I look very very bottom-heavy ... like a freegin pear ..... LOL ....... so I have to watch how things look overall.

If you do ass bustin intense squats the rest of your body will benefit also. Blast your freekin legs until you cannot freekin walk!!!!!

Squats

Well, it looks like I'm not the only one that wonders about the empty squat racks in my gym. Big upper bodies on bird legs with no ass is kind of pathetic looking. Ya gotta work the whole body and, even then, according to your own genetic needs.
