If you don't believe Jesus Christ was/is God...

I came home to some people in my house trying to steal my shit. I still sleep with the living room light on :lmao:

buy a gun and learn how to use it.

Shotgun is great for home defense, but make sure whatever you get you can handle it.

there's a shotgun in the closet
Frankly, with a rugrat in the house, I'd get a gun safe.

Wouldn't a home security system be better? I mean, think about it, what if you had walked in on the robber AND he had already found the gun? *shudder*

And the reality is, for the vast majority of people, unless you're well schooled in the use of firearms, pulling the trigger on another human being, even if you are frightened for your home and property, isn't something easily done.

I'd love to see statistics on how many people actually own guns for self protection, have been in the position where they had to use them, and actually DID use them.

The vast majority of times that a gun is brandished defensively it never has to actually be used. The mere fact that the bad guy is getting a gun pointed at him kinda changes the dynamic of the situation, causing him to flee the majority of the time. So I think the stat we need is out of everyone that owns a gun, how many are willing to point it with intent to kill. Then what happens after that moment is where the debate begins, with all the talk of bad guys taking the gun and using it against you, or actually shooting the bad guy in defense or self or property.

I still keep the light on out in the living room, I figure with an alarm system plus lights on in the house I won't have to worry about the gun

after my folks got robbed they got a security system.
part of the deal explained to them was if it goes off basically hide in your closet and wait for help in hopes the intruders bounce cause of the noise.
needless to say they supplemented the system with a few guns strategically placed around the house.
i think the best thing is a dobermen...not gonna fail you
