If you could only use ONE exercise for building your triceps, what would it be?

I used to think that way about close grip but then realized I was doing them wrong. You have to keep your elbows againts your sides and lower to your sternum not your chest. Press in a straight line and not back towards your chest, head yadda yadda yadda.

i will give them another shot definately.

about the standing skullcrushers... does it not feel like your elbows are about to snap off?

I go lower on my chest as in normal bench press, except the grips are such that my elbows exactly touch my body when on the way down. And elbos tucked in all the time. But somehow, my close grip bench is way stronger than my normal grip benching. wierd.

Exactly. This sort of thing should be posted in big, red, bold letters on every gym wall in the world: CLOSE-GRIP = ELBOWS IN, TO STERNUM, PUSH STRAIGHT!

I think if people understood close-grips, we'd see a lot more guys with decent arms. Even those who train about as smart as a smack-addled gerbils would benefit a little. Anything's an improvement, really, so long as they get away from those grandma triceps machines with the 17.6 lb. weight stacks :p

Oh well...

i say close grip bench has helped me out a lot. i recently started doing weighted dips and i just get a huge pump from those too.
