If you could kill one person in the world.....

Rommel's problems I think were that he knew he was good, but he didn't think Hitler would pull the rug from underneath him in Africa

I think hitler felt that Africa was too much of a waste to keep fighting for it. Had Africa been supported even half of what Western Europe had...We would have been fighting a longer drawn out war and probably would have seen a Nuke dropped in Europe first

I think Patton was able to match strategy with him, and counted on hitler pulling the rug. The brits surprised Patton I think by holding on as long as they did in Northern Africa which made for an added bonus and positioning. Rommel new how to win the desert fight, but wasn't given the chance too really. Had the Germans had even 25% of the air support it had going to bomb and fight over England it could have decimated the Allies in Africa

Yep, they didn't call him the Desert Fox for nothing.

One major difference between him and Patton is the fact that Patton was miles away calling the shots and Rommel was always on the front line with his men.

yep....Patton relied on pounding over and over again, "old school" where as Rommel new he could do a better job if he saw what was going on, and challenging his men to do more....If the Head Asshole is risking his life for the cause then why shouldn't we.

I think once the Allies won in Northern Africa it was over for the Germans. Italy wasn't going to be hard considering most of the Italians didn't care to much for their leaders and hated the germans that were left over.

A girl I graduated with her Grandfather took some famous pics of musolini and his mistress hanging upside down shot and beat to death....He also took a photo of musolini laying down showing the 3 bullet holes to his chest...I've seen them in Time life before, but those were the Origional pics that we got to see...pretty cool I think

Military history has always interested me. Considering physical force as resolved and instigated more conflicts over any other dealings I think it's important for people to learn from. One of my grandfathers was part of the first WWII POW's who were freed during the war. Those were some interesting stories I have read and vaguely remember him telling me before he died
