When he first came out, he was really bruised and had a bit of a cone head because he had dropped down in my pelvis and gotten squished.

A mother with her baby is the most beautiful thing in the world.

awww,so adorable.
he doesn't have that newborn look to him (all squished). he's really beautiful.
Thank you! I think he is perfect.

Devin (did I get that right) is GORGEOUS for a newborn!

This is going to be like some interesting 'truman' like internet baby growing

Pics are great!

Cute boy. I would have liked to have a son.

Oh yeah, he sleeps all day and cries all night...LOL.

Didn't I already post up about how babies get their days and nights mixed up?

The solution is simple: wake him every 2 hours or so during the day. If you have to unswaddle him and rub a cool wet washcloth over his face and feet - DO IT! Then nurse him round 11PM or so and he should be down till 4AM.

All four of my kids were like this. Quiet as church mice in the damned hospital but as soon as they came home it was like... HELLO ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD - I AM HOME NOW!!!!

The nunu is as big as his head. LOL

What a handsome child!

Please post away gobs and gobs and gobs of pics.. You can NEVER show too many pics of your children.

We got lucky. Our daughter usually slept thru the entire night... She's making up for it now though by being a pain in the ass. What do you expect from a 15 yr. old girl?

He was stretching his foot out and spreading his toes. He does that. I do think he seems to have long feet, though. maybe he will be tall? =-)

He is cute as hell, how did that happen?

:P

I love how his pacifier is half as big as his noggin. He looks like a roughneck to me.
he has about 7 binkies, and that one is the tiniest one! all of them are supposed to be newborn size, but are so big that he only likes that littlest one. =-) i think binkies are so cute!

i worked on that today. i gave him his "bath" mid day & took him for walks, which wakes him up. He is getting better. He slept in his crib a little last night!

You're going to have to wait a few years to get him in a derrick.

Cheers,

now you know what was pressing against your ribs

He's got a freak toe! He's pretty cute, but honestly they are a little dull at this age. Eat sleep poop, just like me.
I've got a nephew who's 9 months, and he's finally getting fun.

Nobody really bronzes baby shoes anymore... my mom did for us. I wonder if anyone wanted to do that though, where would you go?

I'm not typically baby crazy - but that is one yummy looking kid.

...you know what is terrible is when one of your friends has a baby and it's really really ugly - I mean what can you say? And worse yet when a few years go by and they haven't outgrown it... OMG That might make me a horrible person but God help me that's what I'm thinking sometimes. :worried:

LOL Did I tell ya'll the story of when my youngest and my sister's daughter were born?

My baby looked like a monkey, no shit. I remember nursing her soon after we brought her home from the hospital, turning to my then husband and saying, "God help me, I love this one like her sisters but DAMMIT this child is UGLY!!!"

When my sister's daughter was born (her only daughter, the second after a VERY handsome son) I went to visit her in the hospital. So there we are, my holding my niece and my sister waiting for me to say something. All I could say was, "Damn this is one UGLY baby!" And my sister laugh/cried and said, "I KNOW!!!"

We are THAT brutally honest.

(Luckily both our daughters outgrew it. :) )

I was one of the ugly/goofy kids.

Thank you Angel and Ilk. Now that I have him, I wish that I had had more children in life. I was so focused on my career and school before.

I've never felt a stronger love. I sit up at night and just think of ways to make his life wonderful and worry about every little thing that could ever happen to him...lol. I stare at him when he is sleeping. I'm happy when he wakes up so I can rock him and nurse him. He's just amazing to me.

that is so awesome.
you're not in such a rush to start back to working full time now are you? :)

also, did you totally lose your appetite? i could hardly eat anything for a few weeks afterwards. if you're breastfeeding, make sure you get enough daily nutrients and drink lots of water!

i think most of us moms already knew she'd have a hard time leaving him. It was evident by how much her pregnancy has already consumed her (totally normal and expected). you spend 9 months obsessing over everything and then this PERSON is there, needing you for every little thing and the hardest part is giving him over to someone else to take care of.

No. It is going to be tough to go back to work. My sister has hinted that she wants to come live with me and be his nanny, though. So, it would at least help that it is a blood relative watching him when I go back to work.

Yeah, Smurf, I really have no appetite. That is funny that you mention that, but I find myself having to remind myself to eat or I completely forget. I didn't know that was a common thing.

Stilleto, I have a hard time even leaving him in another room when he is sleeping. I can't even imagine how hard it will be to go back to work.

it gets easier.
at 6 weeks, you'll still feel like you JUST had him, but by 8 weeks you'll know his cries and he'll be hopefully sleeping a little more. you'll be able to get out of the house just a LITTLE easier and start to crave adult interraction (more than you get here). it will still be hard, trust me.

like, the first time you're out without him and you see or hear a baby and your boobs fill up and then your eyes fill with tears and you can't WAIT to get home to him.

:) There is no stronger bond then the "mother child" bond

i have a very close 'relative' who's bond was about as strong as your ex's. except my 'relative' got violently physical until she lost custody...
