I think I stressed my left knee from biking too much

My left knee has been somewhat sore for the last couple months. I've been biking for over 6 months, it is my main way of transportation. I'm going to go in to a bike shop to have an expert judge my fit to make sure my seat and handlebars are in the right spot.

But... for the time being, my left knee is worn out and I need to get it strong again. What should I do? I know that I might need to give it rest, but that the same time I don't want to just sit around and get fat. I'm thinking about doing some swimming for cardio.

I have not been lifting lately. Would doing some sort of strength training help my knee or hurt it?

I just want to do whatever it takes to get this fixed, so I can continue to go on in my life and bike down town and dance in the club with the ladies, without feeling pain.

Where are you getting the fit done?

GO see Chris Balser at the SLP Eriks location. Dude is a wiz with fitting. That's all he does and does it by appointment only.

I was thinking maybe county cycles or the hub. So I take it you're from around here and are into biking? :)

I used to live in the TC, but now in Madison. I have worked for Eriks for 7 years. I know Crhis balser and he is the best bike fitter around. I too do fittings, but it's kinda a long drive to madison. There are all sort of different rates depending on what you wanna have done. Give them a call at 952-931-9322.

It's gotten worse. I've stopped biking and started walking 3 miles to work instead.

I wouldnt think that walking 6 miles a day would hurt my knee :(

I wonder if my body is just getting adjusted to walking a lot or if there is really something f***ed up with me and the only solution is to sit on my ass until I heal :(
