i need a stand in.

Recently, a wise man told me that I should pray for my enemies. Or maybe he said i should prey ON them. but anyway, i don't pray- i'm an atheist.

I've decided that i will start being nicer though, and I will wish good things for those who are idiots. i mean, not idiots, but those who's lives are miserable and want to take it out on me.
you know what i mean.

As soon as i finish posting this, i'm going to vow to be a much nicer, kinder, more gentle person.

so what I need is, someone who i can say "hey, pray for this person for me", and they'll do it.

hmm. you might work.

you're not gonna disappear from here, are you? i need a regular poster so i can say, "spywizard will pray for you" and know that you'll do it.

I'll do your praying for you. I pray for the idiots all the time. I can pray with an attitude...lol.

Our father, Who art in heaven. Please give Stilleto the strength to deal with all the idiots that she comes across daily. I know she doesn`t want us to pray for her, but Lord I think she needs it. As for the said "idiots", I pray that she does not strangle any of them because that would take away from her attempt to be a nicer, sweeter Stilleto. Amen

so yea, i'll be around..

so you know.. i told her about you, and she has included you in her prayers..

oh gosh. i don't need to be in anyone's prayers- i need someone to do my praying for me.

Heather will pray for your mom though.

no need for prayers for my mom, she's already saved, we ask for prayers that what time she has left will be filled with as much joy as possible..

Thanks though.. she will probably share your name with her other support group people most of which are terminal..

not that you will be saved, but for mercy..

but hey.. i'm here.. me and Hearther can be Prayer Warriors..

she'll know that term..

btw.

i won't name names, and, i really like the person i'm talking about, but someone sent me a k message asking why i can't just believe in god.

that's like me asking you why you can't believe in invisible snow cones that sing and dance behind your back when you're not looking. because it doesn't exist to me and no amount of coaxing is going to make your reality, my reality. I appreciate the fact that you think you have something so wonderful that you want to share it with me, but unless you want me to try to convince you to give up believing in the old wives tale- we should agree to disagree.
:)

and yes, i still like you.

I think that its great that you know what you believe. Some people dont know what to believe and change what they believe with the weather. But with all respect to your views, why would you want to assign anyone (especially a christian)to pray for someone for you if you dont belive that praying to God has some power? Why not just make invisible snow cones for them?

btw Im still praying for your brother. How is he?

I tried this once. I even posted an Apology Thread to all whom I felt I had probably pissed off or been a bitch to here. Then I vowed to myself to keep the sarcastic remarks under control. It lasted like 63 hours I think.

the important thing though, is that I tried.

you did try. i remember.
i was touched by it.

i'm going to try too. it's not easy. i think i already called someone a dick.

or wanted to.

Inflexibility in one's believes is not necessarily a good thing.
I think that being able to change what you believe in, is better than sticking to century's old interpretations of a compilation of documents.

that last part sounds like the catholic religion

i'm making snow cones too. :)
i don't believe in prayer, but others do. so if it helps the recipient, that's what matters, right?

oh, and he's getting better, thank you. :)

Do you believe in Luck? Karma?

Do you have any set of structured believes or do you feel everything in this life is random?

i pretty much believe everything is random.
there are clear instances where i believe in karma, but it's not random at all.
if a person leads a good, wholesome life, i think they'll be rewarded, but i don't think there are clear connections between the two when that happens.

Who's gonna reward them? The fairy godmother? :)

Admitting is the first step
But ask yourself why are you so angry in your life that you feel a need to be mean?
Praying for your enemies teaches you forgivness. What most don't realize is it's mostly because of your enemies, we achieve great things. Our enemies are our greatest motivators. I thank mine every day
And you don't need to believe in God to pray.

lol, no... i mean- someone does a lot of charity work, for example, then gets sick and one of the other charity members puts them in touch with a specialist that cures them- is that karma, or is that just someone who knows a lot of helpful people who want to do what they can to help them?

a drug dealer's house burns down- is it karma, or is it the fact that they live in a pig sty with wrappers falling onto the stove?

i think we make our own destiny. sometimes deliberately, and sometimes indirectly.

lol, i'm not angry with my life or mean.

except to you, cause i love you.

but seriously- i bet there's more people here that you dislike than me- i get along with most people.

wasn't pointing a finger. I'm a confessed angry person. I'm not saying you're angry with your life, but everyone feels some form of disproval of themselves and takes it out on others.
As for me disliking ppl from a msg board, that's silly, I know no one personally. Do some people annoy the hell out of me, yeah, but I can't dislike them.

Stilleto,

Even if you do not believe in God, the advice is still good. You can exclude the prayer... Just keep from spending time in any sort of negative thinking or even taking negative actions.

From a practical sense. Taking time to bask on somebody else's troubles, takes time away from enjoying your own good fortunes. Taking even a minute to wish sad times upon an enemy, is a minute you took away from your own pursuit of happiness. A minute you could have spent helping a friend achieve something positive!

Its all about balance and being practical.

Here is something that can feel as sweet as the coldest revenge:
Shutting somebody out of your mind... Not even thinking of people who are mean spirited, or just mean towards you. Not a thought.
Being able to be completely numb towards somebody, even when they want to hate you! Knowing that this person means NOTHING to you...

Just waking up in the morning and worrying about nothing but your day. Thinking of nobody other than the ones that love you. There is just PEACE you can FEEL! when you learn to shut people out of your life, who don't deserve to be part of it... ahhh that shit feels good! LOL
