they most certainly DO NOT taste the same. I conducted an actual taste test in my very own kitchen in May 2005 and I chose Coke Zero over regular Diet Coke. It's all about the aftertaste, of which Coke Zero has nearly none.

NO they do not taste the same!! I have always drank Diet coke because I actually prefer the taste...My co workers brought that Zero stuff and it tasted allot like the real Coke to me.
That's mo anyway :)
