I use steroids because I want to be the best I can possibly be doing what I love most. It's my poison. The following is from another post I made on the same issue from another forum:

The number one issue that surrounds the medical safety of Anabolic Steroids is the fact that there are zero long-term studies done on the effects of Steroids. In the 70+ years that anabolic steroids have been around, there are zero studies pertaining to the effects that steroids have on healthy adult males. Notice the operative words in the above? healthy adult males

"We are all aware of the adverse effects of Anabolic Steroids during the short-term: gynecomastia, testicular atrophy, decreased libido, liver stress on 17AA's and the list goes on. For most bodybuilders, the short-term ramifications are considered managable when proper counters for adverse effects are used. PCT is done for a reason, and drugs such as HCG and Nolvadex/Clomid have their place.

We are also aware of the causatum of AAS use in adolescents. Premature fusing of growth plates, erectile dysfunction, infertility and even psychological complications. You won't hear any member of the steroid using community advocating steroid use among teens.

In addition, women have a whole multitude of problems ranging from deepening of the voice, enlarged clitoris and menstrual difficulties.

Yes we do know steroids can cause cardiac arrest if injected into a blood vessel. However, is that the result of the steroid or of the erroneus use of the steroid by the user? The answer is fairly obvious, that is why you aspirate before injection. Human error shouldn't be used to judge the effect of pharmaceuticals. HIV doesn't jump out of somebody elses' body onto your needle.

As stated before, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence, often supported by those ignorant on the matter such as Billy Graham as seen on the Donny-Deutsch steroid episode and a certain pro football player we're all familiar with.

When it comes to science? zero. After all, what kind of message would the politicians be sending if they authorized a 20+ year study on Anabolic Steroids? Or any length of time for that matter. The problem with studies on anabolic steroids is that there are too many variables to work with regarding the subjects. God only knows what pre-existing conditions subjectA had prior to testing and if the said subject is taking anything recreational on the side.

The media blows everything out of the water as well. If subject B was on D-bol, and decided to go on a binge drinking spree every second day, I bet you that the media would jump on the Dianabol as the reason for his liver looking like a 12 year old shriveled pickle.

I won't even touch the legal hypocrasy when it comes to the fact that real "killers" such as AAS are off-limits and perfectly healthy lifestyle choices such as alcoholic beverages and cigarrettes are 100% legal. (Note:Sarcasm) It's all about the money and the tax revenue they bring in on this one.

When it comes to unfair advantages? Please. You might as well remove creatine off the shelves as well since some people can afford it and some can't so it is obviously giving an unfair anabolic edge. Humans all seek pleasure (or the avoidance of pain if you follow Aristotles' doctrine). Vanity ranks right up there. I for one will admit I'm vain, however that is my poison when it comes to pleasure. For some, it's crashing on the couch with a bag of Lays. Others prefer a trip to the arcande DDR'ing all night. For me and others of my "kind"? We juice, work out, live life fairly responsibly and display the fruits of our labor to the world. Person A may spend 2000 dollars a year on alchohol and 3-4 coffes a day. Myself? I sacrifice those two for gear. Brand me a vain musclehead if you will, but dare not call me naive.

I enjoy my life the way I choose to enjoy it and I'll be damned if anyone asserts upon me that their way of living life is superior to mine. And there are millions out there who would say the exact same."
Good posts.

They made their point Mav. I suggest if you're so worried about Bruce's health, you PM him. He's evidently addressing the issue as he see's fit.
Let it die.
