$10,000 later, plus DUI classes, I ended up with a consumption by a minor ticket.

Paid a $2000 fine. Went to trial, etc. You can pay them off. Literally $10000 later.

They just want you're money. That's all.

That's life man. Went through this as a kid myself. You can learn from these things or you can make the same mistakes I guess.

Damn 10,000. For my DUI I blew and did the field test. I passed the field test but blew a .178. I went to the D.A. And got into the pre-trial intervention program. Paid $2000 for DUI, failure to maintain control, and fleeing the scene ( bullshit ). Did the substance abuse class, MADD class and defensive driving classes, 1 year of probation and it showed all charges dropped. Could have gotten it expunged for another 400-500 bucks but I didn't need to so I left it as arrested and dismissed. I only lost my license for 3 days because it was the weekend and the DMV was closed.

Moral of the story... Yes it is all about money. I told the D.A. That the fleeing the scene was bs and I wanted to fight that charge but he said it was either take the deal and pay the fine or fight all 3 charges couldn't pick and choose which ones to fight that it was a package "deal"....
