Um why do you need a stove for camping...

+1
It's all about the fire
hotdogs, beans and marshmallows are all you need to cook anyway :verygood:

To answer a couple of the questions:
1. The answer to the "why do you need a stove for camping question" is that one of the locations we'll be camping this year, where we will not be using our trailer (which has a built in stove) does not permit open fires. Fires have to be contained, so it's either a mini barbecue OR portable propane stove. Charcoal is a PITA and you need special cookware that you don't mind messing up (unless I want to cook everything in my cauldron, which doesn't have a lid anyway).

2. First vacation of the year will be at Free Spirit Gathering in Darlington, MD (which happens to be the place that doesn't permit open fires ... well, except the BIG fire that everyone drums and dances around).

I've had hits and misses with Harbor. But honestly, it can't be any worse than the junk Coleman sells, and I've done okay with a real POS Coleman portable propane stove that I've had forever. I just need to be able to boil water and fry an egg and I'm happy.

Why the hell do you need a trailer camping?!?! That's not camping!!!

^^^Okay, you're fired as camp cook! We can do much better grub than that cowboy.
Seriously. I say boil water/fry egg but if I can do those two things (which means I have heat that is both high and controllable) I can pretty much cook ANYTHING short of baking :whatever:

Well, long simmers (like for soups and stews) are kind of a drag ... low open flames + breeze = pretty much a fail.

I'm old, remember? Bad back, bad neck, DJD, bursitis. I like to go to the woods and actually be able to DO something, like hump my husband in the morning and go hiking in the afternoon, instead of sitting around popping pain pills, unable to stand upright because the damp got into my bones and my neck went out from sleeping on a shitty air mattress.

Besides, THIS is the kind of trailer we have, not exactly a friggin' palace (although the bed is INCREDIBLY comfortable and it's very snug and cozy):
