I'm not quite sure what the deal is. My uncle called and left a message on my phone that he had found her happily munching on pizza at the local parlor and that all is well. I will get the full story later. I was just so RELIEVED that nothing was wrong.

I'm sure that was quite a relief. The only time I"ve ever cried in front of any of my siblings is when my sister got back from Africa (she had triple bypass surgery while there and nearly died).. When I hugged her, the emotions were just too strong.

I wonder how I ever lived without a cell phone or pager when I was a kid and was out of touch all day whilst roaming around the county.

I remember just riding my bike for miles. I rode that fucker everywhere. I'd ride off into town like 10 miles along a pretty uninhabited road. 2 lanes, narrow shoulders, cars speeding by around 55 or so. It's a wonder I wasn't abducted and killed.

I think more bad things happen today to kids even with all their cell phones and who knows what (kids today probably have GPS on their bicycles), than 20+++++++ years ago when I was a kid.
