I have a predicament

Wouldn't she know what the pills she was looking for looked like? I have a big bottle leftover pain pills. I can tell them apart by the shapes, sizes, and colors. I would know immediately if something in there didn't look right....and if she's addicted to them I'd think she'd notice.

The power of logic is strong with this one. You might as well try and pass off rootbeer to an alcoholic.

well i guess i thought she was trustworthy, i guess in some ways, i am still freakin naive, what if i said it was a new pain pill that just came out and he wanted me to try it??? do u think shed buy it?

It's funny I was thinking all that in mind when you posted the story. How she'd know it wasn't a pain pill and that you'd have to be telling one of your coworkers about this new pill your doctor wanted you to try because it was stronger, better etc while she was near or could hear you etc.

I don't think it would teach her any sort of lesson. She has a problem. She'll find a way to get what she wants regardless. And just because someone is addicted to one pain drug doesn't mean they'll want another. Especially if they're seeking the drug to hold of withdrawal.

How about you just keep the pills in your car? That's what I do. I would think that being approached about it by a supervisor at work would shake her more than a laxative. Even if she denied it, she'd still know that someone knew.

Problem is they don't know for certain. I mean obviously the chances are good it's her but they don't know for sure

True, but it seems more like an adult way to handle things by direct confrontation instead of pranks.

Excellent point. Revenge feels good for the short term, but in the long run, it might still happen, nothing will change and you'll still be pissed off.

Instead of a direct confrontation, can your supervisor hold a group meeting and discuss the issue? Even say something like they know who it is, but do not want to embarrass them by talking about it...that now that it is in the open, they expect the problem not to occur again. Etc, etc......

I agree with raina and daisy Girl. Easily lost in the justifiable anger is the reality that the poor slob who did this has a serious problem. How pathetic is that, to have to steal medication from a coworker?

Really what could you do to that person that he or she hasn't already done to themsleves a millionfold? Just wish them well and move on.

On the practical side, what if they decide vengeance is in order. Do you really wish having to constantly worry if they are going to put something, perhaps something not as benign, into your stuff?

well if i confront her, she could tell the manager, and im sortof a manager, and i could get in trouble for it, cuz i wouldnt have proof that she did it.
