A mother that smokes and breastfeeds, a mother that smokes with the windows up and the kids inside the car... is it any different if she were to give the kids a bottle of beer?

I brought up the topic during lunch, they replied that it takes a HUGE amount of willpower to quit, and that I as a non-smoker, could never understand how hard it was.

Yeah bitch, I know nothing about willpower...

None of the chemicals from ciggarettes are passed through breast milk....thank god. Children who are brought up in a second hand smoke environment have four times more hospital visits then those who aren't, they are more likely to acquire respiratory infections and asthma. This is just what our health care system needs

I quit one year ago this coming Monday. I smoked for 19 yrs. It is disgusting no doubt. Unfortunately, the smokers A)are addicted to the nicotine and B) don't smell the nastiness of the smoke as much as the non-smokers because they are used to it and their sense of smell isnt as good.

Mostly, when I see people smoking, I feel badly for them that they have not yet found it within themselves to quit. Same way I feel about obese people.

Luckily, i live in an area where smoking is hardly permitted anywhere. not in restaurants at all, not i bars, not in concerts. its awesome.
