I hate LA Fitness

So I'm walking into my trendy LA Fitness in Orlando for some lifting and before I even get checked-in I'm barraged by a dozen fuckwits trying to sell me the "hottest protein" on the market since sliced bread. After telling them I'm 'allergic' to protein I proceed to give myself a dazzling back workout amidst a bunch of cheesy motivational lines painted on the wall.

Oh the idiocy isn't over... As I walk out sweating I see some "lifters" walking out and grabbing slices of pepperoni pizza and donuts left by the staff at the exit!!!! I wanted to ask these nutsacks if they were the same people that ordered a double whopper and biggie fries but with a small Diet Coke.

Can someone refer me to a real gym please?!

I've always loved dungeon gyms; Dark, dirty and brutal.

I hate the fact that some people consider the gym a social place. They spend most of the time chatting and spend the rest just breezing through their sets.
 
I spend 45 bucks a month for the local 'trendy' place....(used to be 88 when I had the family plain)....

I vomit everytime I think about the equipment I could have gotten over the past few years instead...

My garage gym is NOT in the too distant future.

Well you would figure standing 4 feet away staring him in the face would do the trick... not at all. That got the blood boiling a bit. Elderly folk they just dont know any better.
 
Idiots are everywhere. Even in the "dungeon" gyms you are going to find an idiot or two. At least in the trendy gyms there are plenty of hot women looking for some meat to bring home.
 
Problem is half the time those hot women in trendy clubs are the idiots taking up my machine and not knowing whats going on... too busy talking with their "training partner" about their plans for the night.

...I didn't apply that to all females. I love you all :verygood:

I agree that dungeon gyms also have their idiots. Yesterday at my dungeon gym some guy was doing curls in the squat rack while I was waiting to squat. But to make matters worse he was sitting down talking on his cell phone between sets.
 
If you think about it, it's probably worse if you're waiting for someone who is doing squats in the squat rack. Cell phones aside, people doing curls usually have it over and done with pretty quickly.

It'd be the pits if you arrived at the gym to see someone with five or six hundred on the bar in the squat rack and then hear his cell go off. Nah, wouldn't happen.
 
Its just the fact their doing curls in the squat rack that piss most people off. In most gyms theres only 2 or 3 machines to pump out squats but you can do curls almost anywhere.

I was just trying to offer a bright side to the bane of all gyms.
 
I used to lift at LA Fitness years ago...I thought 24hr Fitness bought them out but I'm not sure.

Of course back then I was probably the typical LA Fitness gym member...I can't even remember if they had a squat rack since I only did the 'California Workout' (chest and biceps)
 
I train with a great group of powerlifters at Gold's. The owners are great and they don't mind that we sometimes make a little too much noise or laugh a little too much. An asshole wouldn't survive in our group as they would get eaten alive by us. I stay in my little bubble of the gym and I don't stray too far out of it.

The key is to get dedicated people to train with you and you won't ever have to worry about even looking at all the tools in the gym again.

By the way, the gym has a coney island to the right of it and we live in that place after we train....there and the local dairy queen.....Man I love being a powerlifter and not worrying about my weight except for an upcoming contest!!!
 
if so i think you made up the entire story because i've been working out there everyday for the last year.. well waterford/casselberry .. and i've never been asked to buy anything once.. 2nd they dont even sell protien in la fitness... 3rd they dont have pizza and donuts sitting by the door... 4th if some words written on a wall bother you you should just quit working out and go work at express.. 5th what are squat machines

#1 I don't have time to sit here and make up bullshit.
#2 I'm not a liar.

....but anyways, if you've worked out at Waterford (my club) everyday how haven't you seen the tables set up right after check in--usually happens once a month with salespeople selling tubs of protein and other stupid shit. #1 And yes they DO sell loads of protein in LA at that new ghey smoothie bar always being advertised over the telecom #2 Yes, sorry, I've seen them have pizza and donuts at the exit, this isn't daily, but why the hell would I make that up. Just pointless. #4 Buddy unless your a paco jeans type of guy I know you have Express in your closet, especially for Roxy. Chill. #5 I have no idea what you mean about girls do 'machines' for squats... I never even commented about this.
 
they might do all that dumb shit around 6 or 7 pm but i know it doesn't and has never happened from 11 till 3 .. never have i seen them trying to sell protien never have i seen pizza and donuts by the front table... and why did you mention roxy do you know who i am or something?

oh you meant racks n/mind. unless you do your squats on smith machine but.. i dont think i've ever seen someone doing curls on a smith machine it'd look kindof weird

Yea racks... ha, still have yet to see a fuckwit try curls on a smith but I'm sure itll happen.

...No I don't know you, do you work at Roxy or something??? I worked there for a night and quit. Almost fought a bartender being an ass.
 
nah i was there last night though... so i was like wtf.. and i know a nice ammount of people who work there.. which bartender did you almost fight.. i bet it was larry..

matt chris mike drew tony renta they fire people liek crazy there.. and ya thats larry i got my ass kicked by like 15 cops one night cause of him.. i wanna kill that motherfucker..
 
Matt Kirkwood? He knows my boy Mike pretty well. Matt dated his gfs best friend Kristin... But yea they fired a few of my boys in one night for selling bands (Danny, Robert...). Its mostly just that fuck Vito firing people. You know my roommate James he works VIP upstairs.
 
ya matt kirkwood i think he quit actually though.. i know him well.. and i know kristin crosby.. i think they fired drew too just recently.. i chill in the downstairs vip.. thats how i know all of them.. mike runs the downstairs vip i dont go in the upstairs anymore cause thats where larry works and everytime i see him i want to kill him.. does james have blonde hair? if so i dont know him but i always say whats up to him when i see him.. i'm prob. not gonna go there anymore unless drew gets rehired..
 
Good things...... Downstairs VIP, you must know Josh. He works that small corner section. :FRlol: I know him well. James has darker hair, buzzed it off cause he got a shit hair cut. He works the rope in the more private VIP upstairs.

You ever talk to that bald jacked black dude at LA?... wouldnt mind knowing what pharmacy he shops at. Good to know I found a local on this board tho. Be easy.

nah i haven't talked to him me and my boy call him mammoth.. there are a buch of big ass bro's that workout at that la.. the casselberry one its a much older crowd and most people aren't even sweating at the end of their workout.. if you want a pharm pm me ill set you up.
